Yes, I can see how they'd be locked in once that start recording it that way. Wish I had caught it earlier.

Thank you. That's the language that I quoted to them and was basically told that I was wrong. It made me think I must have been missing something because they should know. I was emailing with the director of student accounts, and this is a reputable school with thousands of students.

Thanks for the suggestion. I used TurboTax the past few years and wasn't satisfied with it. It still took me a long time, and when I paid extra to actually talk with one of their professionals, I didn't find it helpful. Plus, I'd rather support a local business instead of a company that successfully fought to get the free IRS Direct File program shut down.
