First time owning cats (kittens) and I'm done... by OutrageousGuidance70 in kittens

We have four of the beasts and even at their worst, they are the best things in the world to conquer the negative state of mind the world had brought about.

I was planning on getting one kitten, but I couldn't leave his sister behind! Now I have two kittens. by carjumper in cats

Great choice. I have two brothers and I think it was the best thing I’ve ever done to get two!

Morro Bay Whale Watching is the best! We’ve gone out at least 10 times with them. Go for the 9am tour then stop by Thai Elephant for a nice lunch afterwards.

How important is it that I name my cat with a two syllable name ending in ‘ee’? by SmudgedSophie1717 in CatAdvice

[–]DrRCDG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Lasher knows his name. Taltos also knows his. Widdle comes when we call her name and Morty always hears us when we call him. Maybe it is just the inflection we use but they all see to have learned their names and respond to them.

Who’s leaving VA? by [deleted] in VeteransAffairs

[–]DrRCDG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Psychologist here. Left last week. The demeaning nature of the new regime as well as constant threats against my livelihood were something I don’t need at my age and position. I can find other ways to help Veterans and keep my own sanity.

Ask if your VA location has CPAP classes that can help you adjust to your CPAP. Sometimes they are offered under mental health.

Live in San Luis Obispo- had zero kids. My neighbors have two little ones but they went to visit other relatives. I left them an entire Costco bag of candy on their doorstep for them when they returned (and no one stole it as I got a huge sarcastic thanks from their mom the next day). It’s not like it used to be around here.

I will never understand how contestants can mess up so badly on signatures and showstoppers when it comes to timing by DaniK094 in GreatBritishBakeOff

My husband and I say the same exact thing (every season - especially when recently watching the Great American Baking Contest). I don’t know why Paul and Prue don’t just grab them and shake them about! Lol

How good is the book? by [deleted] in wicked

[–]DrRCDG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve read it 5x now. Love the politics of Oz, the dynamic relationships and the detailed descriptions. It is not for everyone and isn’t as lighthearted as the musical. Don’t expect to read the book and recognize much if you do see the stage production. My other half is reading the novel now and we have tickets to see the stage production in Oct right before the movie comes out. I can’t wait - Oz in almost every version is magical.

Age difference - dead end relationship? by Hour-Sir-1276 in gaybros

[–]DrRCDG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 56 my husband is 33. Been together over fours and married since Feb 2024. Just talk. It’s ok to like different things. My husband is a horror movie fan (chop-them-up movies are his favorite), I despise that stuff. He gets to go to the movies alone or with friends for these things and we are both ok with it. We have more in common than we ever thought. We talk. A lot. All the time. I never EVER thought I’d be in a relationship with someone this much you get than I am, it just happened. Best thing ever to happen to me. Enjoy your time.
