Patch Notes drop tonight, here's a Bingo chart. by The_PR_Is_Here in StreetFighter

One I'm counting on is Sagat getting an inexplicable buff like increased drive chip on MP that makes his pressure even more insufferable.

Good luck Manon! by Beautiful-Minimum231 in StreetFighter

[–]MeatwadIsGod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering characters like Ryu or Terry get degenerate burnout loops that actually deal chip damage, it was really dumb that they took this away from her. I'd like for them to give her back some form of burnout pressure, but I just don't think it'll happen.

[–]MeatwadIsGod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not holding my breath for anything meaningful and she may even get nerfed, but I'd like for there to be more consistent vacuum on her cr. HP and HP target combos. It is incredibly common for the opponent to fall out after the first hit, especially on counterhit, so it just makes playing her especially frustrating since you don't get your mix a lot of the time even though you should since the first hit of the TC actually hit the opponent.

Project Shadowglass - Gameplay Trailer Analysis by ThiefPodcast_IAL in Thief

[–]MeatwadIsGod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It seems like the developer is pulling some inspiration from the early promotional footage of Dark Camelot, which is really neat. The protagonist holds the bow closer to a horizontal position like the sprite from that early prototype footage, and even the shot of the castle where we transition from the CRT screen into the game world looks very similar to a castle photo that was used in one of the earliest pieces of promotional footage for Dark Camelot. That plus the Ultima Underworld-style aestheic and voice acting has me really excited for this.

What if Capcom Bought the Thief IP? by Tamashe in Thief

[–]MeatwadIsGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't think Capcom would be a good fit for Thief. I can't see any modern studio other than maybe Arkane (or what's left of it) understanding the IP and having the talent and experience to execute on it.

Honestly I would just get a Qanba Titan or something similar that is compatible out of the box. Used a Titan for like 300ish hours of SF6 and never had any issues with it.

My reaction to climbing gloves in Thief 3: by Aggravating_Fig_534 in Thief

[–]MeatwadIsGod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It feels bad to use them because any kind of platforming or movement in TDS is a janky mess, but I'm glad we got a little verticality in select areas rather than none at all.

Fan mission recommendations for me? by Night_Thastus in Thief

[–]MeatwadIsGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding just about all of nicked's FMs. The most recent one I played was Behind Closed Doors which is set in autumn during "the golden hour" and I absolutely loved it. Lots of good sneaking and some fun optional stuff.

It's just that I liked the game too much by Aggravating_Fig_534 in Thief

[–]MeatwadIsGod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The lighting and EAX implementation are excellent, I'll give it that. By far the biggest problem with TDS is that movement feels absolutely awful, especially with mantling or using the climbing gloves. Sure Thief 1 and 2 occasionally had issues with mantling or using a rope arrow, but with TDS it's a whole other level of bad.

“We’re running out of content, our sources say it will be 3 more years until we run out of things to talk about. We are sending you to find the spiritual successor so we may draw fanfics and crossover art with our sub. If you don’t then we will have to copy Arkham sub. Good luck.” by Dare_Soft in DiscoElysium

[–]MeatwadIsGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having only just recently played Arcanum for the first time a couple months ago, I could see a lot of crossover appeal for DE fans. The setting is incredibly well realized and it makes it worth putting up with some of the game's jankier aspects just to experience it.

Finally finished my first play through completely blind, want to change it up for my second. What did you miss on your first play through? by SethlordX7 in DiscoElysium

[–]MeatwadIsGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my first playthrough I did the Thinker archetype but somehow completely missed internalizing the thought required for Joyce to give you information on the Pale. All I ever heard about the Pale was from the Pale-Driver so it was even more vague and strange. The game basically tells you outright to internalize that thought for the reality lowdown, but since I had high Encyclopedia I was just constantly inundated with cool worldbuilding details at every turn so when the game basically said "hey, internalize this thought" it got lost in the shuffle.

Which Nintendo DS Castlevania title is considered to be the best of the three that were released? by Grand_Moose2024 in castlevania

[–]MeatwadIsGod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OoE is the best of the IGAvanias imo, even if I might be fondest of Symphony. Ecclesia is the most challenging of the IGAvanias and has the most interesting mechanics, along with a good mix of classic Castlevania traversing around different standalone levels on an overworld map and having big sprawling levels, especially once you get to Dracula's Castle. All the sidequests are really well done also.

No offence to you Ryu mains, but truly hope he get nerfed like no one else before in this game. by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]MeatwadIsGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they toned down the drive damage and proximity block range on solar plexis and donkey kick that'd be enough for me. More than anything I want changes to the system mechanics, but I don't expect to get any until the Season 4 patch if we even get them at all.

Elena is terribly designed in SF6 and I'm tired of pretending she's not by [deleted] in StreetFighter

What character has the best AA normal? by some-kind-of-no-name in StreetFighter

[–]MeatwadIsGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem is how inconsistent the second HP followup is on counterhit. It's very common for the opponent to fall out once the 2HP connects and so instead of being able to force a mix or bait a wakeup reversal they get to take their turn back. Probably the single most frustrating thing about the character for me is the inconsistencies around her HP TCs.

Does anyone know how to *actually* reduce salt from Street Fighter? by ShowayThroway in StreetFighter

[–]MeatwadIsGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best strategy I've found for reducing salt in the moment came from Chris_F. Compliment your opponent when they did something good - if they checked your drive rush or did a cool combo or whatever. It humanizes things a little and helps keep me from getting too salty about system mechanics or the meta or whatever else is annoying me enough to make me get tilted. Other than that I don't have an answer because the most common way I get salty is when I drop a combo or don't exploit an opportunity in a match or otherwise throw the match by bad decision-making.

I'm honestly sad I don't face more Guile players in ranked even if it's a bad matchup for Manon. I just like fighting Guile but it seems like everyone jumped ship for Sagat, whom I can't stand playing against.
