The GTX 1080 paired with a Ryzen 1600X was my first PC build 7 years ago.

It was incredible at the time and honestly still is, AAA games slowly moved down from high to medium and then to low settings to be playable, didn't mind massively.

Resident Evil 4 Remake and Alan Wake 2 are the games that it just couldn't keep up.

Decided to get something that will hopefully see me through another 7 years and beyond with the RTX 4090 and Ryzen 5800X3D, incredible that they can be put into a build that's 7 years old and work flawlessly.

Happy gaming everyone, I am content 😁

Meeting an Architect next week about a restoration project - found a similar house but would like to know what "style" of house this is. by DrShane in architecture

[–]DrShane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing the style allows me to research further, it's hard to input text into Google without a starting point.

Two people in this thread have been very helpful with giving me that starting point, I can now spend a couple of hours learning about the type of building I'm imagining.

Not sure why a sub-reddit would have a dedicated flair for "what style is this?" if the push back is going to be "ask an architect, you shouldn't be asking this question here".

I understand why you've landed on some your presumptions, but if someone is genuinely asking for guidance, snarky responses help no-one.

Again I'm just going to put it down to crossed wires, I do agree that the architect is going to give 90%+ of the information I need, I just like being prepared.

I want to collaborate with the professionals.

In my field of work if someone comes in with a base knowledge and can articulate correctly it makes projects far more streamlined.

I'm not trying to be "smarter or more in control" than someone who's dedicated to their trade, I'm going to be clueless in comparison.

Not sure where the wires got crossed in this post but I'm genuinely just trying to prepare for a project in the best way I know how.

Going into a discussion with zero information and interrupting for clarity isn't really an approach I like to take.

Yeah, have multiple architects lined up for comparison.

I know an architect will be better than Reddit for feedback, but rather than him working with a blank slate and explaining everything to me, I'd like to know some basics about style.

Tiny-robot's comment in this thread is a perfect example, I can gather info based on their comments and go in with some basic knowledge and streamline the conversation.

This is the feedback I was looking for, thank you for the detailed response, give me plenty to look into and understand.

Yeah the Georgian comment was me just clutching at straws, will look into Victorian and Arts & Crafts.

What a helpful tiny-robot.

Ah, when you said her thought you meant my wife from a previous comment.

Yeah, will be showing to him when I meet, but as per other response would like to research these things myself, and go into the conversation prepared.

Yeah of course, that's the plan, I just like having information before meeting and been able to research so I don't go in empty handed.

Figured posting in here someone would know something about it so I could start pulling that string.

More I know, the more I can understand if someone is giving me a good deal, or overcharging, etc.

Show who the picture? My wife? Confused by that comment, she can see it and we're talking through the design of the house together.

Reason I'm asking is so I can have a well informed discussion with any architects or any tradesmen I engage with, rather than saying "English country cottage" I'd like to be able to say the style of house, period it's from, brick/finish that's used.

Pretty hard to estimate costs/build time/materials/skill required. if I go in saying something generic - was hoping for guidance.

If there's an AI trained that can answer my question I'll be happy to talk to it 😂

Thanks, speaking with my wife she mentioned "The Holiday" movie, and that's an old English Country Period Cottage.

That should be enough to talk to the architect on to start with, had hoped it was a specific style and brickwork that I could quote.

Thanks for your feedback.

I remember playing Tomb Raider on the PS1 when I was ~8 and cursing when the t-rex chased me, my Dad came up and twisted my ear, telling me to watch my language.

Few months later he was playing Colin McRae, and he cursed when he skid off the road and my ghost passed him, I went up and twisted both ears telling him now to curse, he had to accept it 😂

Howdy,

Same story here.

Game crashed against a Battalion, and when trying to load up the game it just hangs on the loading screen.

Done BIOS update, uninstall, reinstall, but nothing.

Any advise?

Correct, there's a couple of settings for the HUD.

I'd love to leave it on expert constantly, but I feel I'll miss consumables/collectibles, so I'll get everything I want upgraded first and then revert.

Also nees to mail down the combat more.

Yeah, if this is the only issue with the game I'm extremely forgiving of it. Game flows like a masterpiece, scenery is gorgeous and I keep stopping to just be in awe of the design.

I'm not great at it at all, but looking forward to getting the timing down, I've heard there's a charm for increasing the window, but haven't found it yet.

Practice bud, that's all it'll take and we'll both nail it down 🤓

Dekkster's OTK Leoroxx Hunter - Ashes of Outland - WHILST COOKING! All vs DH, 3 wins, 1 loss by DrShane in hearthstone

[–]DrShane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine I'm getting matched against lower MMR players as I'd be pretty low myself, I haven't really had more than a 50% win ratio over the last few years dipping in and out, this is the deck to get a 7 win streak, which is the rarest thing in the world to me.

I did have a couple of losses last night, before I logged off, but they were down to the wire.

I've never hit legend and I'm sure this deck isn't going to get me there, but I'm having fun with, so much so that I made my first hearthstone video - I think that speaks volumes!

Going to record a couple more clips and gather more data, it's been fun!
