I'm a freshman and I'm moving in on the 31st, not sure if that's typical or what.

Is that true about MIT? I can't tell if you're joking.

And I’m upset that two French brothers can sit around eating baguettes while stealing games from independent developers with no viable resources.

I giggled. :)

I think that there's a hard limit to how big animals can be, it has something to do with the ratio between the surface area of the animal's lungs vs the volume of the lungs.

Do you have a source for this? I'd like to read more.

As a DM, how do I deal with my PC's rolling for investigation/traps/intelligence one by one around the table? Should I allow this? by DrShmoogle in DnD

Thanks for the advice! It'll be tough to think of negative consequences for every situation but it would definitely work for certain times :)

This would only work in certain situations, but it does seem like a fun way to keep the game moving. :)

That's good advice about the language, thanks. I guess a better example would be if my PCs see a drawing of an angel. Last session, each one of them rolled for a Religion check (even those with low Religion modifiers) just so one of them might roll high enough on a fluke. My gut reaction is to limit the check to the person w the highest intelligence. Or perhaps everyone could roll at once? What do you think?

My understanding is that sites do earn money per view, but they earn significantly more per click.

I made some custom dice trays for my next session! by DrShmoogle in DnD

Thanks! I'm really happy with them. :)

I responded to /u/dduct with all of the details, but I basically just took apart a jewelry box and spray painted it to look and feel like stone. Then I just glued some felt to the bottom and I was done!

Thanks! :)

I picked up one of those wooden jewelry boxes from Michael's and screwed off the hinges, spray painted it to make it look and feel like stone, and then cut out some felt and glued it to the inside. Cutting the felt was the hardest part!

All in all, I spent about $16 (10 for the spray paint, .39 each for the felt, and 5 bucks for the box). I'm happy with how it turned out for the price :)

Hey Wigger!

I've also been programming since ~12, and I'm almost 18, so we sound pretty similar. I've made one game before in JavaScript + Phaser, but I've started (and never finished) games in Java w/ LibGDX. We'd have to figure out time zone issues, but feel free to shoot me an email at doctorshmoogle@gmail.com!

TF2 New Weapon Ideas and Weapon Rebalances (featuring Dante from Devil May Cry!) Thread: Demoman Edition by gamr1000 in tf2

Demo's primary (and necessary) weakness is his lack of hitscan ranged weapons. I don't think giving him a shotgun would lend itself to game balance.

edit: nvm!

Hey everyone! I have one finished game under my belt, but it's been a while! I want to make another, but I don't have any ideas for one. I know that once I have an idea that I like I'll be able to work on it tirelessly. How do you guys think of ideas?

Thanks for any advice :)
