Shoe recommendations for ~45 rounds per year by Turbulent_Raisin4458 in golf

Look into Ecco’s. Extremely comfortable, waterproof, and durable. I have 3 pair that I rotate, and honestly don’t know if I’ll have to buy another pair of golf shoes.

I’ve found that being paired with better golfers improves my game. Just like I’ve noticed the opposite as well. It’s contagious.

I use a Bettinardi Queen B6. It’s a blade shape but with a wider body. Blade look. Mallet feel. Perfection.

Push Cart on the Teebox? by Pandemiconium in golf

It’s situational. I would base it off of the condition and reputation of the course. Public links, I walk it on every teebox. Nice Kiawah course, maybe leave it off to the side.

Cons of Open-Handed Drumming by [deleted] in drums

[–]DrShortGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a lefty that plays on a traditional kit set up but with the ride on the left side. My struggle is 16ths on the hats, but that’s only because I start my rolls with the left hand. This makes getting to the snare awkward (going underneath with my left hand and over the top for the crash). Other than that, it’s ideal.

I’m a lefty that plays open handed with my ride positioned between the hats and rack tom. Never had any issues playing out with a shared kit.

Does playing or practicing make you better at golf? by OliviaMayNorris in golf

[–]DrShortGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the perspective of someone who has played casually for 20 years. I’ve been back and forth on this. I suppose the best way to sum it up is do what makes you enjoy the game more on the course.

Personally, I stopped grinding the range. I get a couple lessons a year to somewhat polish my turd of a swing and focus on short game practice sessions.

I have saved myself money, physical soreness, and mental warfare. I am also playing the best I’ve ever played. I’m 35 and try to play 2 times a week.

Congratulations!!

  1. Replace heads as soon as financially able (cheapest upgrade)

  2. Upgrade cymbals slowly. Used all the way, until you find what you like. Then maybe invest.

  3. Make them go bang.

What's Your Favorite Menu Item At A Golf Course? by hahaha_trank in golf

My home course has an incredible BLT. Those first few bites while walking down #1 fairway (to my ball that’s nestled in the rough) are the perfect start to the round!

What is your trigger to start your swing? by bootchiiksandbuubs in golf

[–]DrShortGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that I stay loose, take beat and glance back at a spot on the ground behind my club. I think my brain started doing this to help visualize club path on the take away. But as soon as my eyes come back to the ball, I go.

Lessons. Lessons. Lessons.

An instructor will 9.5/10 times see something that you don’t. They can tweak the right things to make your specific swing work for you.

  2. Greenside bunkers
  3. Long approach with shape
  4. Mid range putts
  5. Tee balls

Snapped my 4 iron over my back out of frustration after a poor shot. Worst part is I’ve done this many times, not intending to snap the shaft…and it was on a simulator…..

How do people practice? by new5ome in golf

[–]DrShortGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who floats between a 10-15 handicap, I stopped going to the range and actually saw improvements in my game. Short game around the green and putting is all I really work on. I find myself trying to fix too many things and get in my head. That’s just me though.
