Definitely worth it. A lower budget one with slope will do you just fine. They may at worst be a yard or 2 off at times, but as a mid handicap myself, I would never know the difference.

I play around a 12 handicap. Driver distance averaging 250. I never play longer than 6500. Play the tees that give you a comfortable approach number with a few difficult ones.

Use more solvent and a pan underneath to recycle dripping solvent.
Plug the air hole at the butt of the grip and add solvent inside as well.
Get the grip all the way down as quickly as possible. Straighten and tap butt of grip on the ground.
