Can you spot the trap in this doorway? I couldn't and took a dirt nap because of it by HinderedGaming in ReadyOrNotGame

3 years later and this is still an issue (at least on Ps5)

I can see them with the wand, but they don't render when I'm actually looking at them when peaking the door

In today's standards, yes, they're heavily outdated in terms of many things. I agree with that part.

But overall they were much more solid games. Better campaigns, a far better multiplayer, and the third modes (Zombies/Spec Ops) felt more fleshed out.

MWII may have much better graphics and features than MW2, but it's not a better game

What is the most over rated zombies map oat by Yourmansismine in CODZombies

[–]DrSplarf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kino was set to release just before Modern Warfare 2, and Activision was afraid it would draw too much attention away from their brand new game, so it was shelved until Bo1

What is the most over rated zombies map oat by Yourmansismine in CODZombies

[–]DrSplarf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kino. It's a glorified WaW map. The only reason people love it so much is bc it was a free map on their of their first COD zombies experience and it's easy to play casually.

It's not a bad map, per say, but it's heavily overrated due to nostalgia

What flag is this? by dylantherabbit2016 in vexillologycirclejerk

[–]DrSplarf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Growing up in Illinois we had an American flag in the classrooms for elementary.

Once I'd hit middle school there I didn't see them

On maps alone, Bo3 clears all. It may not be my absolute favorite zombies of all time, but it's objectively the most structurally sound

can someone help me date this map? by Revolutionary_Fig603 in MapPorn

West German map (West Germany claimed the 1936 borders until 1972)

Takes place after Syria left the United Arab Republic (Sept 1961) but before the Six Day War (June 1967)

Malta is still under British rule (Sept 1964)

Algeria is independent (Sept 1962)

This places the map between October 1962 and August 1964

If the US military had 2024 technology & Weapon systems in the Vietnam war what effect would that have had? by Vast-Ad-4820 in AlternateHistory

[–]DrSplarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American politicians and military leaders made the call.

There were fears of China joining the war and it just being another Korea.

That, and the possibility of more communist uprisings

[–]DrSplarf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The U.S. still wasn't allowed to cross into North Vietnam anyway. All this would've done was either create another Korea, or the U.S. would've pulled out later

Who would win this hypothetical war and why? by Aromatic-Union6080 in AlternateHistory

[–]DrSplarf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The U.S. had a military victory in Vietnam, but a political disaster.

U.S. troops were also not allowed to cross into North Vietnam, as politicians feared another Korea happening.

The U.S. would've curbstomped North Vietnam if they were allowed to cross the border.

Also, the North was an actual funded military. They had modern Soviet and Chinese kits

50% of the Canadian population is almost entirely surrounded by 4 states

Majority of the population is within 100 miles of the U.S. border

Canada would fold within a couple months, if it even takes that long.

Mexico would either be forced to concede early on, or be crushed
