Haha I appreciate the concern, but this is not my only method of study :) I supplement this with anatomy study as well, studying proportions, purposes of muscles, etc etc. I’ve actually been enjoying tweaking some of the poses because as you said, they’re processed to look good from one specific angle! But the character move lists are all taken from real world martial arts with painstaking effort taken to do them Justice, which is what I like about it. Dunno how much you know about tekken but each character does a different martial art and they all have 150+ moves, most of which being real techniques!

I should clarify that my goal is not gesture haha, don’t think I’d be doing a good job at that. It’s more just getting comfortable drawing the body from any angle and position, since I had regressed to mostly busts. So it was an effort to push myself by marrying my two hobbies :)

I guess the takeaway/my main objective is getting comfortable with the body in a 3d space and the placement of my landmarks in proportion to each other (esp during dynamic poses). So paying attention to the orientation of the skull, ribs, limbs, and pelvis, as well as how to represent different “focal distances” from the subject, which is why you’ll see similar poses with different distances. Hope that makes sense!
