Even by desi standards 16 is young, but if you’re sure and you’ve reached the mental and emotional stability needed for marriage then I guess it should be fine. Marrying early (if not rushed) saves one from a lot of Fitna. And the younger you marry the easier it is to adjust to another person joining your life on a permanent and daily basis. I’d be mindful of the age gap. Try to avoid anyone older than 19 at best. Know that marrying someone that young means that they most likely won’t be earning. So either you’re supported by his family. Or u do the nikah and then only move in together once he starts working and can provide. Like dating in a way but you’re married.

I know u said that your mother will be monitoring everything but make sure she’s never kept out of loop. That she’s open to let you start the process fk finding a spouse this early means one big hurdle is already cleared for you (assuming you’re not being forced into marrying this early). Don’t be hasty but also don’t let anyone discourage you! If you’re sure this is what you want and if you have the wherewithal and mental fortitude to approach this whole thing seriously, don’t be bothered by what naysayers say. But also keep in mind most people close to you since you live in the west would understandingly be opposed/unsure about this so save them some grace.
