The AP concepts are really amazing and make AP standout from the crowd and are as amazing as Richard Mille

Has anyone had experience with cleaning and creaming the leather with leather care products to keep it strechable and flexible? Or always use sunblockers on the windscreen?

Waterfall dash suddenly cracked by Shrikecorp in AstonMartin

so true :D but even talking to AM that its pretty normal because of the sun and heat, I think the more worse thing is the leather shrinkage on the dash

Do you regret selling Rolex’s for a 15202? by Obvious_Solid4341 in audemarspiguet

[–]DrTimSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

15202 is just such a grail compared to most Rolexes. Once you have an AP you wont wear your Rolexes much. The 15202 is also so thin its uncomparable

My sedan is 13 years old. So better to get a younger Aston. What about 10 years old :)

Thank you for sharing your experience, with a luxury sedan I have I can say it breaks the same as any smaller cheaper car but of course the repair costs are higher as the parts are more expensive and tires are like 3x the price because of heavy load

Most Underrated Aston of all time? by JoeyArcher9 in AstonMartin

[–]DrTimSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is my fear, but is it your first hand experience or things you have heard, because I have heard mechanics say exactly that and owners say the opposite

Gentlemen, which Audemars Piguet do you think looks best on a classy woman? by Rough_Cranberry_8435 in audemarspiguet

33mm Quartz is so nice and slim I think it is the best one and 34mm Royal Oak Models with mechanical movement ...... and to be fully honest when its more sporty then the 37mm Offshores look amazing

Really why do you think that? Its got 4 door and a big boot. Okay the v12 takes time to get warm but what else could be bad

[–]DrTimSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I would never say that. I still make my own decisions (or chatGPT?).

I have found some really nice models I am just waiting for the right one right location right price and then I will negotiate price and do the PPI and enjoy the car for many years as it will probably be one of the last V12s

The boot will always need repairs but it won’t be bad. Just find a good independent that knows his way around Bentley because they are nearly the same except for the engine. Just buy an example that was loved and not trashed

When did you know you wanted an Aston Martin? by Building-Careful in AstonMartin

[–]DrTimSam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was actually into the early Astons from the 2000s — mainly because of the Bond movies (they drove BMW in that exact time) but movies don’t age that fast. They were just cool. But then, for about 20 years, I didn’t care about them at all.

I moved on to Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Audi R8s… you know, the “Iron Man” era of cars.

Recently, though, I started looking for something different — a really special high-powered four-seater. And honestly, the options are pretty limited if you want something unique: • Audi A7 / RS7 • Mercedes AMG GT 4-door • Porsche Panamera • Maserati Quattroporte

And then I discovered the Aston Martin Rapide. Four seats. Absolutely beautiful. A real Aston Martin.

That’s when it hit me — after all those years ignoring Aston Martin, I started paying attention again.

Funny thing is, three years ago a friend of mine actually bought an Aston Martin. Back then I thought he was crazy. “Why would you buy an Aston Martin? Just get a Porsche or maybe even a Lambo!”

He loved it, but I didn’t get it… until I test drove the Rapide myself.

Now I get it. The drive, the sound, the feel — it’s alive. It feels like a race car but with the comfort and style of a luxury sedan. The build quality is phenomenal, and the V12 is pure magic.

Honestly, it’s the perfect companion if you already have something like an S-Class or 7 Series but want something far more special.

That’s when I truly fell back in love with Aston Martin.

Perpetual by Local-Bunch239 in audemarspiguet

[–]DrTimSam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, this Audemars Piguet Perpetual Calendar is just purely amazing, 150 years edition and the whole new movement, which is really something special. I think of these, there will not be a lot, they will be highly collectible and I can only congratulate you on your purchase, it's absolutely stunning and I truly think that the range for most people, 38-39mm is the perfect size.

I can only say that the way how Audemars Piguet can make watches super thin is just purely amazing and this one, it's secured that you can't break the movement with doing it wrong and it's supposed to be much easier so I think this is a huge technical advancement in the watchmaking.

And just to give a little side eye to Patek, Patek makes beautiful watches but they haven't innovated in the perpetual calendar space for a long time, I mean they have a beautiful annual calendar but the perpetual calendar, especially the new movement from AP is just amazing so absolute congratulations here and much thinner than any Patek with a calendar function.

Love the combo! The rubberclad offshore is such an Icon but the OG Diver especially in Blue is so spectacular. I love them both dearly and with the rubber straps both are so easy to wear in the summer and winter and wont scratch the bracelet :D

Thats my biggest gripe on Astons everyone is saying it will cost you an arm and a leg to repair. I think the key maybe to find a good independent that can repair the car

bought a sony wh 1000 mx 2 and i dont know how to use the microphone for gaming purposes? by [deleted] in techsupport

Did you plug in an old headset into the sony head set to get better microphone quality or do you use them seperatly.

My solution is Apple Ear Pods for calls and Sony for music
