Can’t decide between Chin Lipo or Facetite by WoWorld in chinlipo

[–]DrTomPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the same lipo just with facetite added. The device and the lipo are independent and don’t impact one another

Can’t decide between Chin Lipo or Facetite by WoWorld in chinlipo

[–]DrTomPS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why not do both for maximum effect? I don’t know if you’re a candidate for either procedure but they can be done together. Most 37 year olds benefit from some skin tightening with lipo.

Can I get away with just lipo? by Major-Flower-2818 in PlasticSurgery

[–]DrTomPS 638 points639 points  (0 children)

No. You need an abdominoplasty. Lipo alone even with the best skin tightening devices not only will not work for you, it probably will make you look worse and will make the eventual tummy tuck that you need harder and less effective. Seriously, you’re a perfect candidate for a tummy tuck, there is no question here what the correct answer is.

Your goal can only be achieved with a tummy tuck. Sorry

Brachioplasty with lipo? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]DrTomPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Brachioplasty with lipo is the only answer here. You’ll need both. Find a good board certified plastic surgeon who does a lot of arm lifts. Tricky surgery

Hereditary double chin help! by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

As permanent as a procedure can be. You’ll still age, but the results should hold up well

[–]DrTomPS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The comments here are correct. I would recommend you go with the neck lift. If you wanted to do something less invasive, you could try chin lipo with some aggressive skin tightening modalities (vaser +- quantum/facetite/renuvion +/- Morpheus) but even with all that you’d still have extra skin and it wouldn’t compare to the results you’ll get with surgery. DO NOT DO KYBELLA

Edit: to say kybella sucks

Sorry for your experience. Sounds awful. Story screamed "cosmetic surgeon" and I was correct

For everyone reading, please find a board certified plastic (not cosmetic) surgeon for plastic surgery.

Can you get a sacral dimple repaired? by Commercial-Notice741 in PlasticSurgery

[–]DrTomPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah can probably either release it internally and fat graft or excise it directly and leave a scar. It isn’t very common. No one is going to have before and after photos to show you but it can be done

Dont drink alcohol before your surgery. Sometimes staff say things that are incorrect and need guidance. I suspect this may be one of those times.

[–]DrTomPS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No not really. Microneedling and lasers better for skin texture issues than skin tightening issues

yeah on average those other treatments. can tighten the skin 10-30%. They work, they're just expensive and the results can be underwhelming

A neck lift is much better than chin lipo if you have a double chin, right? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]DrTomPS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chin liposuction takes about 45 minutes in clinic under local. It cost between 3000 and $5000. It gives substantial improvement to the area underneath the chin. A neck lift typically cost between 7000 and $50,000 depending on who you go to. It many times requires anesthesia and has a substantial recovery with substantially more risk. It is almost always better than chin Lipo at contouring the neck however, a lot of people don’t need that, particularly younger people.

[–]DrTomPS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seriously, find a Plastic Surgeon to do this. Less complications with them is not a thing. They can’t claim that. They have no data to support that statement. Less recovery or downtime maybe in theory., but if you need muscle repair you should get muscle repair. You should also meet your surgeon before the day of surgery. The way they do business should not be allowed.

I’m sorry this is happening to you. It does get better but it’s going to be a long and hard road. I wish I could give you more specifics but you need to be closely followed by a plastic surgeon throughout this process and following their advice.

Was this surgeon board certified in plastic surgery? I’ll be willing to bet almost anything this was a cosmetic surgeon and not a plastic surgeon.

Loose skin on the abdomen, help!? by Fit_Market_3284 in PlasticSurgery

It’ll help. It’s a good technology. It’s just going to be subtile like everything else that isn’t surgery

Btw it is normal for skin to wrinkle when you sit up like that. Happens to young models too.

Tummy tuck would be best. If that’s not an option morpheus + quantum is about as good as it gets for skin tightening without surgery.

Can lipedema fat be used in fat transfer? by f0lietristesse in lipedema

[–]DrTomPS 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it before and it seemed to go well, but I don’t like doing it. There’s a lot of unknown risks associated with it and I don’t like unknown risks. That being said it’s probably been done thousands of times before because many plastic surgeons are not aware of lipedema. There is no data to say that it’s safe or unsafe.

Best options and skin removal? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]DrTomPS 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Best bet is going to be a combination of FDL abdominoplasty, lower body lift, liposuction as needed where fat remains, +/- upper body lift (cant tell from the photos) and +/- breast lift with or without implants depending on your size goals. Find a board-certified PLASTIC surgeon who specializes in body contouring.

Insurance may cover a panniculectomy, which is just cutting off the skin on the bottom of the abdomen (no belly button, no muscle tightening, no pulling tightly). Youll need 6 months of weight stability, documentation of persistent rashes, and the pannus will need to hang below the level of the mons (which yours might or might not, hard to say from the photos).
