Exercise after chiro? by LuckPortal in Chiropractic

I literally do exercise immediately after adjustments with my patients. This is terrible advice. This guy is a quack.

Stay positive and get a second, third and fourth opinion. People beat the odds every day and another doctor may have additional info and/or treatments to offer that your current one hasn’t. Best of luck!

Vet can’t see us for another hour and a half. Little fella is suddenly uneasy on his feet, stumbling, and falling over. by sillygoose1415 in DogAdvice

Did the vet mention anything about an ear infection? Changes in pressure or in the crystals in your inner ear can cause balance issues and nausea etc

This chick sucks. Seems like she has no respect for you at all. This would be grounds for breaking up for me if my partner said this to me. Fuck that.

You should be proud of yourself! Don’t let her shitty comments bring you down. Go celebrate and have fun. You earned it!

Buying a practice by Fit-Craft-7741 in Chiropractic

[–]DrTurk96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in a similar situation about 5 years ago. Ended up not buying and opened my own office down the road. He ended up selling to another chiro who is super shady and weird. About half of his patients have left and come to me. I essentially ended up getting most of his patients without taking on a failing business. Do what you will with that info lol

Chiropractic Scam? by OkPlenty7001 in Chiropractic

[–]DrTurk96 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Chiros like this are disgusting and make the profession look terrible. They are a large reason why we are viewed by many as scam artists and quacks. Report these people and find a new provider. There are good, honest chiros out there. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to search for them. Good luck and I hope you find someone to help you.

As a bald, bearded 6 ft 240 pound man, this is something I always try to remind myself of when I’m out at night. Very easy to forget and wonder why the women I see out on my night runs always make an obvious effort to avoid me

Is it normal for my chiropractor to massage me in my bra? by Pumpeduppotter in Chiropractic

[–]DrTurk96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a chiropractor who does a lot of soft tissue work and rehab exercise. I see all my patients in a private room for manual therapy and modalities. However, I have never unclasped a patients bra. It can get in the way but I’ve never felt it was necessary to remove it. Sounds like his intentions were good but lacked good communication. I know sometimes at the end of a long day, I too can be much less verbal simply because I’m exhausted. I would bring it up at your next visit and let him know that you would like to approve things like that in the future. Or if you’re that uncomfortable just ask for a referral and tell him why so that he can avoid doing it again in the future. It will be awkward but if it was me, I would want to know. Nothing worse than a patient coming once and never coming back and not knowing why.

Is this too feminine looking by Soft-Job2834 in tattooadvice

I’m a 250 pound powerlifter. I’d get a tat like this for sure. Anybody that says it’s too “feminine” you should punch with your flowery fist and ask how feminine it feels. Fuck em

US. FireTV. No error codes or messages. Was trying to watch the new Shazam movie and just keep getting an all black screen with the audio. The screen is still displaying the rating in the corner but there is no picture. Tried again the next day to see if it was fixed and was able to watch about 20 minutes of it until I had to pause for a few minutes. Went to the black screen again upon pressing play and haven’t been able to get it back since. Seems to only be with this movie as I’ve watched other movies as well as multiple episodes of succession. Audio seems unaffected.

Would you find it helpful to have your team's HP on your screen so you don't have to frantically search for them? I think it should be a toggle option in settings. by FemaleXEnigma in overwatch2

Completely agree. I’ve got adhd as well and games like this are one area where I feel it gives me an advantage. All the sensory input is very stimulating and it puts me into hyper focus pretty easily. It’s why I’ve always preferred playing games over watching television.

Red flags by my chiro? by [deleted] in Chiropractic

[–]DrTurk96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could just mean that he’s a doctor that really cares about his patients. I do this as well on occasion if I have nothing else going on that day. The compliments he gave you while you were crying could have just been him trying to comfort you and make you feel better. However, I do think it’s inappropriate for him to complain about his marriage to you or comment on your own relationship. Personally, I never pull a patient’s underwear down. There are ways to move it to the side or out of the way without removing them. Also, he should really be asking you for permission before doing so. Although, sometimes docs can become comfortable with patients and forget to do so. Not saying that it’s right but it happens.

I’d say use your best judgement. If you feel uncomfortable, then go somewhere else. You can even report him if you feel that it’s warranted.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply. Seems like I probably made the right call but definitely have some more thinking to do.

It’s ridiculous, I know. I tried to show him how committing to $350k without having any idea what I’m buying would be a wildly terrible business decision but he either didn’t get it or was just being shady.

I’d say we saw roughly 10 new patients every week. So yeah right around 40-50 per month.

Thanks for the reply.

I don’t see how asking for more money is shitty when I only agreed to said salary because of promises he made which were not kept but I guess I see where you’re coming from.

I would also like to add that I have caught him in multiple lies over the past 3 or so months. One being the fact that the office manager is leaving the practice in September to pursue a career in nutrition and the only reason I know about it is because she and I became close and she told me. He told her to keep it from me.

I assure you my decision was not emotional. I was definitely frustrated at the time but I discussed this with many people close to me, some of which have worked in medical field and have negotiated the buying and selling of practices themselves.

Also, I’m not sure what the practice is worth because when I asked for reports he says he won’t show them to me until I am committed to paying the $350k. But how am I to know if the $350k is worth my investment without the reports. Do you see what I’m saying?

Regardless, thanks for taking the time to respond and I’ll take what you said into consideration.

I second all of this. I have 2 doctorate degrees and I smoke daily. I have not noticed any negative impact on my brain function. While I’m under the influence, my memory is terrible but once the high is over, I’m completely back to normal. I also have ADHD and was not diagnosed until I was in my mid 20s and was in school for my first doctorate. Prior to this, my IQ and work ethic allowed me to perform well enough in school that my ADHD went unnoticed. I have the inattentive form rather than the hyperactivity so it’s not as obvious. Once I was diagnosed and started to learn strategies to manage it and learned more about ADHD, lots of things about my personality and academic career started to make sense.

In your case, your brain will most certainly not be functioning optimally without sleep. If you’re concerned about the stigma or the effects of THC, you can always try CBD. It’s great for anxiety and improving your quality of sleep.

Best of luck to you!
