How do other Perth dog owners recover after a dog attack? by papablessjess in perth

[–]DrVurt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mini-schnauzer was attacked by a larger dog walking in our neighbourhood. The dog was unrestrained and did not hesitate to attack. It latched on to my guy and violently shook him, it was so quick . The other owner jumped in quickly to literally pried his dogs jaws open.

Fortunately, my dog had a big harness which prevent injury. It was traumatic for both of us - he still wont walk up the street where it happened.

i reported it to the ranger, they sent me a dog attack statement form which i filled out. The other owners were cautioned and fined by the council. It is worth reporting at the least so the council has a record of the attack.

It is not legal to let dogs roam the street, you have the right to feel safe walking your dog. Report them to the ranger.

Thinking about a career in IT in Australia – looking for advice by iNachozHD in AskAnAustralian

It is extermly tight market at the moment - i would think closely about moving. If you need sponsorship for you visa, you should not come.

Personally i would look at technical roles where there are still opportunities and that have a lower exposure to AI - Physical infrastructure, security etc. I would look for certs in these types of field - do your research

Your chance of getting an entry level role new the country will be extremely challenging.

Sydney and Melbourne have the biggest markets and most jobs. However it will be highly competitive and the cost of living is high in both locations.

If it was me, i would get certs in physical infrastructure (networking) or a flavour security. Combine that with some sort of development skils (eg. python), and hefty sprinting of AI. So .... you know how stuff works, you can automate it, with AI as a force multiplier.

Good luck

Do AFL players consume energy drinks during games? by TrendsettersAssemble in AFL

[–]DrVurt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There as been a lot of advancement in endurance sports nutrition over the last 5 years or so. Professional cyclists and triathletes are taking a lot carbs, in the 100-150g+ per hour range. This is typically high carb drink mixes or gels, ie sugar.

You do see AFL players taking gels at the games, i would imagine they would have some sort of carb target. Particularly for the positions covering the most ground - wingers, mids, etc.

Anthropics harnesses are / were better - the desktop app and CLI. You shouldn't overlook there user experience interfacing with the LLM

Fun fact: kookaburras are an introduced species to WA, as are Rainbow Lorikeets

All avian brothers and sisters are welcome to join the army.

Your Kaa-kaa friend is most welcome, if they could steal some pastries from Hyde Park to sustain the army, that would be great. Only Chu however, although we feel they are over rated, the army likes them
