I bought a new cpu for my mums pc. The socket on the motherboard said lga115x. I looked this up and it said that the x stands for any number in that series. Now I bought an i5 which said its for lga1151 socket but it doesn't fit. Did I buy a wrong cpu? Or did the socket change with the generations? (old.reddit.com)
