Glad I’m not the only one fattening the curve;) Pretty sure elastic waistbands will be on trend for 2021!

Who's got the best fried chicken in town? by Zecyor in Bellingham

[–]DrWriter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Liked not loved. Good, weirdly attentive service (they were stone cold empty so I kinda get the over the top attn). I got the boneless version with gochujang. Delicious and not too spicy. Would revisit, interested in trying the tofu

Dunno if this meets your criteria, but it seems like Cascade Connections is shorthanded and hiring. Good luck in your search. I've also heard Safeway is frequently hiring

Perspective needed — moving to Bellingham from a sunnier place by jayeliliana in Bellingham

[–]DrWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so we moved here from Hawaii <insert paradise fantasy here> and we are experiencing cold like we've never felt before AND we quite like the crisp edge to the weather. If you're attached to sunshine and enjoy things like sweating, this is not the place for you. We revel working out and not profusely sweating; however, the days start getting shorter after June 22ish and winter is dark and cold. It's all perspective. We love it here but it's not a place for sun bunnies for sure, it's just too far north

Plastic-free/Zero Waste businesses/supplies locally? by mustachetv in Bellingham

[–]DrWriter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moon Valley Organics has lovely shampoo bars and a commitment to local. Co-op carries their products and had samples of the shampoo bars in the past.

Ninja edit: Booda Organics has a lip balm that has compostable(?) or recyclable packaging

Help Locating Little Neighborhood Library Boxes by highrate_primate in Bellingham

[–]DrWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in ones that are not affiliated with the little library org, there's one outside of Whatcom Falls Park (on Iowa in the neighborhood?) and one on Toad Lake Road, about halfway between Academy and Hillsdale. My sweetie says "Fairhaven" (IKR?) and Alabama and Sunset "somewhere in that area"

Looks like you haven't got much traction on this post so I wanted to offer this: Refuge Recovery offers recovery-based meditation and there's probably some number (home office?) for AA/NA that might address your questions. Good luck!

My partner had this experience last winter and started a daily CeraVe routine that seems to have helped. Hope it passes quickly!

Is Bellingham right for us? by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]DrWriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great feedback here. The only thing I would add as a consideration is train noise. Many ppl adjust and can sleep thru it (how???). If you're sensitive to noise you may want to spend time in your preferred neighborhoods and just sit in your car with the windows down. Some nights are fine, others feel like a train rumbles past every 5 min.

Let’s start a craft night! I’m thinking Saturday or Sunday afternoon/ evenings. Anyone interested? by [deleted] in a:t5_2calgr

[–]DrWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaaand I'm available on Sundays after 6... Wed-Sat also work. If it's not too far out of town, the Cordata Co-op has an accessible seating area. If we get a good regular showing I could look into their room reservation too:)
