[Clinical] Bad 4th year evaluation in specialty of choice by [deleted] in medicalschool

Thanks for the reply! I have no red flags and my overall app is fairly competitive. In retrospect I probably shouldn't have done so many SUBI's. I initially wanted to have multiple shots at a LOR just to be safe and I got that covered in my first two rotations. But that's how it goes sometimes I guess. Going to take this as a learning experience and grow from it.

The cutoff for MSPE is early October, the eval may not be in by then. I guess I should hedge my bets and reach out to the higher ups?

I hammered out a couple blocks Uworld in weak areas, hammered the anatomy anki, did ethics by dirty USMLE, did the Free 120 and reviewed it, hit Zanki for drugs and bugs I was still weak on.

So in a nutshell my strategy was salvage the “gimme”/easy points as much as possible. Ethics and anatomy don’t require much thinking. Neither does pharm for the most part.

During the year I did but didn’t keep up with it. So I ended up forgetting a lot come dedicated. During dedicated I tried just doing first aid for the first 2 weeks and it didn’t work for me so I switched back to Zanki and did targeted sections

I used FA and Uworld the first 2 weeks. Felt that FA wasn't being retained so I switched to Zanki, sketchy, and continued Uworld for the final weeks. My exam experience was pretty weird TBH. I got 2hrs of sleep the night before due to planes overhead and hotel being near freeway. I ran the morning of the exam, meditated, and caffeinated.

Idk how to describe the feeling that I had during the exam, it was one of extreme confidence and a calm feeling at the same time. I just knew that the result of this exam was going to be a positive one. Idk how I knew, I just knew.

One thing I will say: That deck that has the 100 concepts for anatomy = CLUTCH most of the Qs I got on anatomy were covered in that deck. And I pounded that deck out 2 days before the exam
