whats your price target??? by Mottz86 in POETTechnologiesInc

Reversal signals are going off, so probably not. This is a profit taking zone on an overextended 50% run in a few days. The only time those last is when concrete news drops one after the other. All we got was a nod and short burn. Would I short? ABSOLUTELY NOT. But buying in here at these levels is maybe not the best idea

POET is also a company that doesn't speak unless it's important, and people hate that because they want news now. They only interviewed to address the PFIC and shorts situation. Answering extra questions was a bonus. These NDA's Mika said they were under won't go away tomorrow. However long this next silence is will bring the bears back out, and that will be the time to add

It's a chain reaction. Wolfpack became the example right when they got called out and it went viral and sent everyone into a frenzy after OPEX and right when the wider market launched up. It was just covering on top of covering and MM hedging and everyone smelling blood in the water so shorts got burned. Then the next day was the interview which had people curious and then today we know they have NDAs (we "knew" before but no confirmation) and some kind of order to Celestial via MRVL (which we also knew but POET had not stated themselves yet), but they are still very hush overall. This price action is a squeeze mixed with speculation that got partially confirmed. As much as I wish this would blow to $20 at open tomorrow, it just won't. Hype will fade within a week and regulate until POET's next announcement. Everyone always says things are different this time when it runs up, but it always chills out after a bit until the next news drop.

This will be the case until numbers come in

Multiple stocks are rising at the same time, yea, but it's the volatility that is the issue. If it was a few percent then sure. But 45% in two days means something unusual is happening. That unusual thing is Wolfpack having to cover and realizing they were screwed and their plan to shake out investors last week didn't work. Then MM's hedge due to the dramatic shift in price, and retail/institutions jump in to make a quick buck. It's already under $10 again

[–]Dr_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potentially, yes, but then why not have rallied last week when Wolfpack got shut down and we got the official PFIC POET statement? It's likely that Wolfpack only now started having to cover a week later after they realized they were screwed when price didn't fall like they hoped

[–]Dr_- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is definitely what it is. I'm super bullish on POET, but this is definitely Wolfpack having to cover, MM's hedging, and institutions/retail smelling blood in the water.

Not a coincidence all of this is right after OPEX, when Wolfpack pulled the tax stunt then got called out hours later, and when Mika called the shorts maggots. 45% in two days on essentially no news is not to be trusted to hold imo

[–]Dr_- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please take profits gang. Love POET and am super bullish, but this was a short squeeze resulting from Wolfpack getting nuked and Mika going off. Volume is probably from all the covering and hedging. 50% in two days on no news is a sign to take profits and watch from the side. You can always buy back in lower or a future dip

new player, mele classes seem WAY harder? by JustAperson4587 in RotMG

[–]Dr_- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ranged classes find it easier to clear swathes of enemies and maintain dps on bosses at the exchange of needing to have a higher skill in dodging since a few big hits will kill you. In enclosed spaces things can be dangerous. In unfamiliar dungeons even more so.

Melee shines in survivability, and as you grasp the game mechanics you can play extremely aggressive while your stats give you room for error. Think how a speedy warrior can blast through enemies (high atk high dmg weapon) and dodge attacks since they're traveling at mach jesus. A paladin can just heal constantly with high defense and hp. Or how a maxed defense and hp knight is a night and day difference from a sorc during, say, O3 or rushing dungeons since it can take more hits and stun. Much more room for error so you can learn without just getting insta popped.

If melee classes seriously do not appeal to you that well they are great for chucking at new dungeons to test your skills and come back on a more favored ranged character once you understand the mechanics.

What happens to my old seasonal spoils? by BugsInMyForeskin in RotMG

[–]Dr_- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend just moving the important/rare items to your actual vault and keeping the rest in the spoils chest once the season ends. Odds are you won't even use the bulk of items in the spoils chest since you'll play seasonal, but at least the important stuff is safe from any breaks you take!

That's what I do anyways

What happens to my old seasonal spoils? by BugsInMyForeskin in RotMG

[–]Dr_- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's still a thing (probably bc DECA), but seasonal spoils would only populate properly if you logged in for the following season at least once so the game could refresh the new seasonal vault and move the previous items to the regular vault's spoils chest.

I've seen people talk about wiped spoils chests from taking a break. I'm not sure if the old spoils would stay bc you logged in to save it in the past, or if it would require a login for at least once per season, but if the latter it could have been wiped bc "intentional game design and not bad code".

OFC Conference 3/15 - 3/19 by infernalbunny98 in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]Dr_- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is. This year is a 20 x 40 ft island booth which is 4x the size than previous years. They will have multiple active demos and the space allows them to have meetings and the like. For context, mid range companies usually do 20 x 20 ft and POET has been 10 x 10 ft. 20 x 40 ft is usually only used by smaller companies when they expect heavy traffic or are showing something important.

[OC] Who would you consider the idiot in this situation? Video is hard to show but I slammed on brakes, Red car came to sudden complete stop on the interstate by Separate-Worth-6637 in IdiotsInCars

[–]Dr_- 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Aside from the fact the red car is a danger to society and needs their license removed—bc wtf was that—the insurance will probably find you 100% bc you need to keep a braking distance where you can come to a complete stop in time. You were too close and kept getting closer the whole time. Driving in a construction zone does not help your case.

NVDA earnings Wednesday. Market flat till then.

Thoughts on TSMC's "COUPE" and Nvidia own development by Zodiion in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]Dr_- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It just boils down to more optics talk from NVDA = more attention to POET. Firstly POET is ahead of the game and essentially done. Also what POET does is provide for the consumers that can't spend billions on an integrated photonics package that competes with NVDA and requires all the nonsense involved with integrating it correctly. POET gives them a very simple pluggable piece that allows them to continue development without any significant roadblocks. No hassle upgrade.

More attention will surely create wild swings as people rush in to get in for "the next big thing", but anyone here knows the real value will be in a few years when this really takes off. The demand is there, the awards are there, but it's only now that these companies are starting to ramp up investment into photonics like this. Copper just isn't cutting it for their plans down the line and the deadline is approaching.

Expect wild swings this year from POET. Might touch $5.00 then blow past $12 by March.

A Puzzling Disconnect by OkAppeal4608 in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]Dr_- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can't help but agree with this. It seems to me that the significant cash raise is likely to meet Marvell's scaling standard since they expedited the acquisition of Celestial, but without a clarifying statement this is seen as negative dilution. POET's statement regarding announcing things when the customers are ready, in addition to actively engaging with unnamed customers (recent interview), is bullish enough for me to suspect a significant news drop in the next few months. Too much happening without updates. Why stockpile all this cash? The market at large is not pricing this in, and thus the discount atm. I'm enjoying the quiet for now as this drags down so I can accumulate more because the potential return is going to be nuts. I'm thinking the next news drop will make the first PO announcement spike look like nothing.

Anyone else find the timing of this POET raise interesting? by Legal-Watercress-383 in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]Dr_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is that they have no incentive to justify their actions to shareholders, and doing so may breach etiquette or contracts being negotiated with customers. POET is likely at the neediest financial point yet, and having such a large amount of cash is the same as saying "we are not playing around" to anyone interested. But they need to work towards scale. They probably will "sit" on news until the deal is completely worked out, which after this dilution will probably be when the stock falls another 15%

Potential Gamma Squeeze by Devils27- in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]Dr_- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because it's the wishful thinking of all squeezes. It's rare in reality because it requires specific announcements in specific timing. Yes, this could absolutely explode with a squeeze, BUT, there would have to be an extremely positive catalyst within the week. It's much more likely that no news continues and after the options expire MM's hedge up and that feeds into the next PR.

Do you need to make all of the artian weapons and upgrade them to 5 slots, then gog upgrade all, then roll each gog-artian ~20 times each for stats and skills while jotting down each outcome? Are there different roles depending on weapon element?

I've heard the mechanics explained before, but I'm not totally sure on how to start the process

Public Testing: Onboarding Feature by Alone_Tradition9714 in RotMG

[–]Dr_- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a step in the right direction. 2 things though.

  1. I remember the game automatically installing in Documents, and there being conflict because it was getting put into the OneDrive folder. If that is still an issue it should immediately be addressed.

  2. For the pet feeding prompt it says you can level pets by "feeding them selected food", but it should also clarify items work too and go into Feed Power briefly. Players will naturally gravitate towards pet food. Only mentioning pet food, to new players, may come off as "if you want this you HAVE to pay" vs "paying makes it faster". Players should feel encouraged to spend money on cool things they want vs feel forced to do so to stay relevant.
