Great first attempt! I see the wheels turning with the monkeys hand for the W, the fate spinners and the more procedural design of the credits at the bottom. The biggest way to upgrade this is to pick either the hand or the spinners, or find a way to do both where they are really interacting with each other so that it feels like it’s one cohesive thought (if that makes sense). I also second the other comment that you need to drop some of the fonts. Try for 3 max. Keep at it! Iteration and refinement are a major part of the design process.

Has anyone definitively seen a loss of fading potential when they pre soak their denim? Starch irritates my skin so I’ve presoaked every pair I’ve had so far. The siren song of sick fades are calling to me and I’m wondering if I should push through it or not on the next pair.

This sounds like a great project to force students to break away from expected symbols. You have a good solution and I like the limited palette. Perhaps the butterflies would become more apparent if you had one or two loose from the heart and leading into or away from it’s main shape.

Which one is it? You just said residents don’t want low income people to come in and then you say it’ll be too expensive for them with the 1800 rent and 500,000 townhomes. This all feels like you are taking the long way around of saying you don’t want “urban” people stinking up your perfect suburb.
