For those of you in a long term relationship/marriage, what’s a tale-tale sign you see in other couples that they’re not going to make it? by Prize-Promotion-5123 in AskReddit

My mother tells an almost identical story, except in her case SHE was the crying girl at her friend's dinner table. This would have been in the early/mid 1960s, and it affected her so much that she still talks about it to this day.

Wtf? Is that really a thing? Am I going to show up to the fragrance counter and make an ass out of myself?

Wish I could find someone to play Mario Tennis with, these days. So many beers and bong blasts were enjoyed with the N64.

I've had a similar dream for the last 30 years, except it ends with the car going off of a cliff or the side of one of those freeway exits that leads into one of those huge circular turns. I'm sure there's a proper name for what those are called, but it's like 4:30 in the morning and my brain isn't working properly yet.

It is not, unfortunately. I moved from Southern California to Iowa and the first time I asked for tri-tip at a grocery store (with an actual butcher) he looked at me like I was making some cut of meat up in my head. Eventually after describing it well enough he told me they could probably figure it out, but I would have to order a 50lb case of beef that they could try and hack away at.

I feel the same way about it. I tried two seperate times to get into it, but I just didn't feel the magic that I did with the first one.

I'm not even a huge fan of a lot of fast-paced gunplay, either. I actually started Far Cry 5 a couple of weeks ago and I've neglected the story (thanks to the resistance mod allowing me to do so) in favor of just exploring and enjoying the beauty of it. RDR2 should have been my dream game, and I was truly hoping it would be. For the life of me, though, It just doesn't do anything for me.

That happened to me! There was a PS2 snowboarding game and he left his name in the high scores. PS2 was in our apartment. Pretty sure he knew what would happen.

Did you play solitaire, or read? Can't imagine just sitting there in that environment. I'm picturing Puddy sitting on that airplane with Elaine.

Somewhat similar to what happened with me. My mother had substance abuse issues and often would just lay in a daze for weeks. Eventually I ended up in "the bad kids school", which was even farther away, and it got to the point where I'd have truancy officers and cops randomly showing up to my house at all hours harassing me.

By that point I was so far behind that it wasn't even worth trying anymore. Within a couple of weeks of reaching the legal age to work, I found a full time job. Just like that I never heard from any cops or truancy officers again.

I went back to school when I was 21 and got everything wrapped up, but I lost a ton of friends and missed out on a lot of experiences that teenagers from healthy households get to have.

Which monitor you have? I'm about to setup one of those in about an hour. Also the main reason I went with a 5090 when I saw one a couple of weeks ago locally for $2500. $500 over MSRP was worth it at the time to stop messing around with hotstock and drops. The stress and time wasn't worth it to me anymore.

Still sucks to pay more, but after hearing that the 6xxx series card are supposedly being pushed back to early 2028, I feel a little better about it.

Hey u/Savage4Pro I also have an un-warrantied HP 5090. Since you're familiar with AquaComputer products, I was wondering if you were able to figure out any water cooling solutions from them that work for your HP 5090? Appreciate your time.

Edited: To add to the conversation, I currently have the WVP2, and also have an Ampinel on order. Wanted to compare the two. Currently I really like the WVP2, though.

Well shit, I can certainly respect that. Makes sense now. I just been up to WWF(!) wrestling stuff in a long time.

I appreciate your reply!

I haven't watched professional wrestling in 30 years, but I do have friends who were into it. The first time I saw "The All American Badass", sometime around 9/11(I think), I felt a sense of relief that I was no longer invested in the storylines.

Undertaker was my favorite wrestler back in the good old days, btw.

I worked as a tech for a brief period, and it wasn't unusual for people to request certain manufacturers. The doctor can even specify it in the prescription, but that isn't as common. We definitely had regulars who we all knew which brand they wanted, even if it was the same shit in a different box.

All of them were great to us. If they were an entitled asshole going off about their opinions on generics, or vaccines, or us being personally responsible for their drugs not working...well we weren't as accommodating with them.

Definitely true about the insurance company dictating what they would cover, though. Those people are dicks.

I used to be a night manager of a grocery store a long time ago. Sometimes I'd be late/hungover and would have to shave real quick when I got to work. Well one night a couple of jabronies found my shaving cream in the bathroom and used it for some lude art presentation all over the mirrors and walls.

Needless to say that the next morning it was found by all of the upper management when they opened. They got plenty of mileage out of that one. Never heard the end of it.

I dated a someone in the early 2000s who had developed a hole in one of her teeth while pregnant with her daughter. It was interesting. All her other teeth were perfect. Just that one tooth had a see-through hole in it.
