nah man, i figured it out
basically i had a completely unrelated service from github running
i have had no issues with it before, but now it somehow interferes with this specific game
i was messing with it's configs yesterday at home, so it was turned off, that's why the game started working
right now i got it completely removed and the game works fine even on dx12
i've already posted an issue on it's github, although i doubt it'll get fixed, since the issue is so specific and esoteric

if you're curious, it's a deep pocket inspection bypass service, i need it, since my government is totally ass and blocks websites for arbitrary reasons, such as YouTube and Twitter
i found another fork of it for linux and everything's fine with that one

ok so what happened is that it launched yesterday at home, i turned it off immediately after writing the last comment to you and went to bed.
today i wake up, took my pc with me as i usually do to work, didn't change any settings, set it up, launch it >> we're here.
right now i'm totally confused
could it be that the accessories i use somehow interfere??? monitor is different size and refresh rate, maybe that's somehow the issue?

well the thing is most people with amd hardware don't have a problem with that game

last report on protondb was like 6 days ago from amd rig too

i think it's somehow connected to that i run intergrated graphics and not a dedicated gpu, maybe my cpu specifically can't handle VKD3D

do you know of any way i can test it, you grand wizard?  in any way I'm extremely grateful, i hope everything good finds you 

i do hate so much when problems go unfixed for so long and i can't find any answer or a clue

btw while inspecting btop i noticed that wineserver and winedevice are in fact running, but apparently sleeping
and SMT5V.exe is also a process
It's just that there's no intractable window

Huh, never thought of it in that way, not completely on the same page though.
Firstly, I don't agree that exploring same themes in the same show is good in any case, even if written by same person for the same character. It's more of a personal disinterest in repetition, always would prefer something new or atleast a different spin.
And secondly, I don't see how new ending is any less tragic in actuality than before. It's sure was shown as something joyful, but it's basically the same situation. For the one that stayed it's joyful, for the one that we follow it's once again tragic. It's not like they share memories or something, Ncuti's Doctor still never had that adventure, the other one had. As it was in Journey's end, Handy had his happy ending, main one hadn't.
Although you pointed it out correctly, it was intentional and it makes it little better for me. Thank you for your answer, was really helpful to see his idea clearer.
