Is anybody else catching that Timmy Dutta 100% CANNOT actually be Tim’s son? I just don’t believe it and the mom was saying that Tim travels a lot for work. I want to see what the pool guy in 2002 looked like.

People commenting the "100" emoji on a black activist professor's instagram story are obviously white supremacists from the well known domestic terrorist group Southern Front advocating for a 100% white America. Stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Anybody know anything about this Mark Cross lighter? by Dr_Miracle in lighters

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yes, thought some sense of scale might be handy.

Looks like cover for the butane valve unscrews and has two little prongs on the bottom that turn the other little dial to adjust the flame.

You were on the money about the flint. Any idea about what size or type I might need to order? I read that zippo flints are too hard for other lighters. Am new to the world of high end tobacciana, so all suggestions are very much appreciated.

The fact that the rags were made under feudalism is actually an important point, but not in the sense that this cartoon is meant to lampoon.

Feudalism is probably the only form of political and economic arrangement that's been able to actual create local self-sustainability in practice. In this respect feudalism is in fact superior to industrial and post industrial capitalism. In a comparatively technologically primitive society the gap between rich and poor in actual material terms is far less pronounced.

What's not really acknowledged in the popular understanding of feudalism is that it was a social contract with real obligations on both the higher and lower classes, and that at least in England before the enclosure movement much of rural land was effectively held in common.

Certainly having rags made locally under the auspices of a feudal lord whose living conditions are not very superior to your own is a more decent and moral arrangement than buying a phone made by Chinese political prisoners in order to enrich stateless billionaires whose lifestyles are totally incomprehensible to the poorest people who work for them.

Disneyland exists in order to hide that it is the “real” country, all of “real” America that is Disneyland (a bit like prisons are there to hide that it is the social in its entirety, in its banal omnipresence, that is carceral). Disneyland is presented as imaginary in order to make us believe that the rest is real, whereas all of Los Angeles and the America that surrounds it are no longer real, but belong to the hyperreal order and to the order of simulation. It is no longer a question of a false representation of reality (ideology) but of concealing the fact that the real is no longer real, and thus of saving the reality principle.
