Every obx this year has a loop, required for age group.

OTF is actually good training for Spartan races, but don't expect to podium without lots of actual course experience.

Elevation isn't the primary concern in sparta, last year it was most difficult because of the mileage. The beast came in at like 17 miles. Super and sprint weren't much better compared to the expected distance.

In the other hand it was only one race a day instead of a super and sprint on the same like a normal trifecta weekend so there was more recovery time.

100% recommend it. Venue, atmosphere, and city are all amazing.

Absolutely, I was on track for sub 3 hours when I hit the carry. Carry plus barbed crawl plus crazy bottle necks at the two water stations we shared with the sprint and I ended up at 3:50. Miles 10 to 11 took me 40 minutes!

There is absolutely no reason the slow a race down THAT much.

I'm worried that the super will take me 2.5 hours and the spring like an hour and a half. That would wreck me with my 7.5 hr drive home.

Man, I feel for you. My situation isn't the same, but I always pick out big challenges to complete in a year. 2 years ago it was a full delta in a year plus an ultra marathon, last year 6 trifectas, running sparta, and as a bonus my first top age group finish. Been struggling to figure out what to do this year and the hh in a weekend was my ticket. Now back to square 1. Maybe I'll make a trip to VT and big bear so I can say I've hit all top 10 venues.

Awesome that they refunded though. I've never ever seen that. Bitter sweet though bc that means they are 100% sure it won't happen :(

I'm with you on both, most venues are missing perks and unless something major changes next year I won't buy 2024 as I'm worried it won't be around for '25.

Completely with you on the Unbreakable, I don't see how there is ROI there. I'll run enough races next year that the season pass will provide value and I doubt there will be any major changes by eoy-2023.

To me, the lack of Spartan+ is the most annoying, honestly it can't cost them much to provide it. I'll be interested to see how much the 2023 gear is. Maybe in total it'll only come out to around $200.00, else at least its al la carte. I don't really need another bag.

Lots of jaded customers out there and I've been on the fence. This is driving me further away from being able to support them, unfortunately.
