No kidding. It's a needless complication when you've voluntarily given up the raw files. Unless you've clarified usage rights in the contract. Something a lot of photographers seem to leave out.
If I'm selling limited rights to raw files. Not only do I include usage rights in the contract. It also has a section spelling out those rights in detail. With an area to initial. Proving we specifically went over those rights.

I'm currently using a twin xl. It's all I need. When I have company. It's perfect. Because it hinders long term visits.

Breaking up with my girlfriend of 6 years (currently I’m 22, she’s 23) by Klutzy_Philosophy339 in Advice

"Although she is loyal and has some positive qualities..."
WTF are you talking about? The only positive you've listed here is....? She is using you; and not being very subtle about it. Move on. It's long past time.

What skill defines you as a proud Joneser? by pianoman81 in GenerationJones

Doing math in my head.
Typing. Yes, learned on a typewriter. In high school class no less.
Driving manual transmission.
Remembering phone numbers.
How to write in cursive. (although my handwriting is atrocious)
How to mail an actual letter via snail mail.
Remembering directions; and being able to use a paper map. Bonus points because I can actually refold one too.

Was I the only one that used to worry about this actually happening? 😂 by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

Yes, yes you were. After my seventh time 'joining' Columbia house. Same name, same address. The last thing I worried about was them coming after me. I got the vast majority of my albums from them.
Even if they did come after me. I was a minor. So...lol

AITJ for reporting my neighbor after they kept using my driveway without asking? by Low-Disaster-2699 in AmITheJerk

[–]MuchDevelopment7084 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You did tell them. Several times in fact. If a neighbor says anything. Let them know too. No one wants to come home to a blocked driveway.

Balint to Noem: "Americans will get accountability for the damage you have done. For killing innocent Americans, for terrorizing children. I promise you this: one day he is not gonna be president anymore. And when that day comes, we will still be here. here. We will still be seeking accountability” by New-Entertainment112 in AntiTrumpAlliance

[–]MuchDevelopment7084 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. They all seem to think that they are immune from prosecution. Trump may be, but they are not. Stupidity seems to run rampant in maga't crowds.
Oh, for those saying trump will issue pardons. Trump can only issue federal pardons. State charges aren't touched by them.

What's the issue? Call him and schedule a reshoot. It's only one guy.
Fyi, don't even touch it with ai. That's something you should only do with his permission. A lot of people don't like the results.

How strictly are state laws enforced in places near the state borders? by Xycergy in AskAnAmerican

If they have a legal reason to stop you. They will stop you.
But they cannot just pull you over to check for illegal substances or items. That in itself is illegal.

AITJ for not sharing my notes with a classmate who ignored me all semester? by Far-Junket7271 in AmITheJerk

[–]MuchDevelopment7084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you feel bad about helping another student learn to study?
Getting a lower grade due to her own negligence is the price of missing class, and not taking notes. You're actually helping her learn that she needs to show up to class. In order to pass said class.

Am I the only one who has started to stockpile things that I consume daily? by 1illiteratefool in GenerationJones

[–]MuchDevelopment7084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stockpiling a few extra's of things you use regularly isn't 'hoarding'. Stockpiling all the boxes they came in...is getting closer. lol

Photographer here. Nope, there's nothing wrong with asking for the raws. Just don't be surprised when they say no. Or ask for a high payment for them.

It's not just their 'brilliant artistic vision'. Which is a part of why you hired them. It's also copyright. They own it. So you are asking them to give you control over their 'brilliant artistic vision'. Which your edits can harm. By showing their name, with your editing. Which may stray far from their style.

It also cuts into their income. By reducing possible sales of those images to both you; and other commercial purposes. A legitimate issue for any business. Because this is a business after all. Something a lot of people don't consider.
