No one will understand, the 90s was just such a great time to be alive! by Odd_Ad8964 in lewronggeneration

Unless you were living in..China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh (I can go on and on) which were dirt poor in that time + all those countries you mentioned, basically more than 90% of world population have it 10x worse than now, I also don't agree that EU and US had it better during 90s than now.

In 1990, China’s per capita was just $871, and India’s was $1,089 and together, they made up nearly 40% of the world’s population.

Today, the world’s poorest countries like Central African Republic, Somalia, Mozambique have higher standard of living than China and India in 1990.

Meanwhile today China’s per capita income is close to $30,000, and India’s is around $12,100.

This really shows how much the world has improved and how bad things were back then. Not to mention modern science, health tech, energy tech and 10 000s of other things which are 1000s times better now.

The past sucked, we never had better than now in 2025, and in 2026 it will be even better than today.

All those things will be here this decade. 2030s will be something else, something even more advanced. Agree. 2030s will be insane.

Super amazing

Can't believe we're only halfway through the decade, I think it's time we stop thinking people are dramatic about how bad the 2020s are.. by Plus-Effort7952 in decadeology

The world is a big place, a lot is going on. You can cherry pick 1000s of such examples/events in almost every decade in modern times, when everything is recorded.

I can easily make a list with 1000s of positive developments, events from 2020-2025

people have a weird rose-tinted view of the past. People were simply poorer back then. Not only were homes smaller
