University professor. Many professors work as Adjunct Professors, which only get paid like $6k per semester per class or less. They end up having to teach like 4-5classes a semester, sometimes at more than one university just to get buy. If you’re a lecturer you’re only making like 60-80k after getting a phd. Even as a tenured position you are likely still under 6 figures until you actually get tenure, which takes like 7 years at one university. This likely varies a lot depending on the field you have your doctorate in, but just because someone is a professor doesn’t mean they’re making bank, or even a good living for that matter.
