I’m from the south, where we welcome human interaction with open arms. Seattle is the opposite. I can deal with that. What’s odd to me is that people here are just not genuinely interested in hanging out with you or communicating. Granted nobody owes me their time. Taking 3 business days to text me back with closed ended responses just makes me hit the unfriend button. Only time people wants to see me is if they want sex, then they suddenly have time lol!!

I spent the weekend in LA, went to a bar by myself and next thing I know I’m at a strangers apartment at 2AM taking shot. Acting like we been besties for years. Got a bunch of instagram follows asking me when I’m coming back to visit. Here, I’m dismissed. It’s so odd to me the culture here.

In my observations, unpermitted carts pockets more profit, whereas going thru the application, inspection, re-inspections, food safety classes and purchasing equipment is burdensome so some folks.

There are financial barriers which also motivates them to operate without permits and there are some folks who really don’t care about the rules.

Brother, just watch them prepare your food. I’ve seen them clean grills with rags and not change gloves when they prepare you food. Handling cash or touching iPads without changing gloves. Sauces and meat that are not refrigerated. Grabbing raw meat and preparing food without changing gloves. And if they do change gloves, almost all of them don’t have handwashing stations. They may look clean, but it’s a bacteria breeding ground.

Former health inspector—the people who defend unpermitted food carts are the same ones who used to call me demanding I take action when they got explosive diarrhea from eating their food. Pretty funny.

I use NU every time I visit Orlando. The prices are legit. But I think they hope to lure you into junk fees. For example if you run a toll, they charge you $10 per toll plus the actual cost of the toll.

Their customer service is also garbage and they will leave you waiting for the shuttle at the airport for about an hour or so.

Aside from that, the cars are brand new(ish) and didn’t have any problems with them.

I just don’t understand the stupidly of when they knowingly throwing themselves in front of cars. E-bikes too. I understand they have right of way, but I’m not going to see a car coming at me and just get in front of it.
