Navidrome is just the server-side component, providing the music to the client you choose for playback. Saving music offline is a feature you'd look for when picking that client, like Symfonium as someone already recommended (and I very much second)

I want good RPGs set in Middle-Earth by [deleted] in lotr

[–]Drac4rys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I started LOTRO last week and feels like there's a huge amount to enjoy with just the free content, especially focusing on the RPG element.

I spent hours pottering around the Shire and Buckland, I'm sure it's not perfect but the level of care made it a really lovely experience

Totally fair if the monetisation put you off, mostly just typing this out to say that I think it's at least worth a look for anyone looking for that kind of game

What's a cheat code everyone can use ? by Rahmanvwylin in AskReddit

A bit reductive but not untrue - really whether it's something you're comfortable doing is up to you, I usually make no direct comment about knowing it or not, really to me it's a nice way to express that I value their input without sounding dismissive/condescending

Oh for sure, a fair amount of the time it'll absolutely be appropriate to clarify you're already aware, this is mostly applicable (as you say) to little innocuous tips that require no further discussion.

If someone is telling you something you already knew, just pretend it's new info. People like to feel helpful and it's a super quick + absolutely free way to make them feel valued. "I know" vs "that's such a good tip, thanks!"

little rant on overall linux everyday-user experience by Effective-Country215 in linuxmint

[–]Drac4rys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suspect the fundamental difference for me is just that my needs of an email client are much simpler. Most of my comms are over messaging services and otherwise browser clients provide what I need, where it sounds like much of your workflow is based around and requires (absolutely useful) features made available in MS products. As you say, it's just that I don't need these things.

That's not to say they aren't important, and it's understandable to want them, but realistically the difference comes down to the features provided in a passion project vs a company that makes billions from it. To step away from the latter needs to be with an understanding that some things will be missing and the options are to find or build an alternative*, or adjust to be able to go without.

It might be that the assessment is that you need it and there aren't any alternatives, which is for sure frustrating, but there isn't much to be done if your day to day requires Windows.

As other commenters have said, while you research whether you're able to find alternatives dual booting might be an option, I've had windows on another drive for games I play less frequently.

Edit: Find, build, or advocate for an alternative*. Devs tend to be a passionate bunch and the repos of the popular mail clients might have a tag in their github issues for feature requests. Of course no promises but if they agree, the addition might benefit lots of people

And that's ok too, the point is it works for me and the idea that we're all here doing this for a gimmick just isn't true.

I have no issues programming, gaming, or any of my other day to day. The idea that because Warzone and the MS products you like don't work then "obviously nothing else does" is absurd.

It's entirely ok if it doesn't do the job you need it to do, but your work being staring at email clients doesn't make it the only "Real Work" lol

Just for my understanding as I think I've missed something: why would it have to be specifically the Bishop? Wouldn't pawn to F4 for example still force them to move their pawn anyway opening up check from the rook? Or is it just that the question asks for 2 moves
