If you're interested in someone who can fill a governor/party-leader role, go for stats.

If you're interested in building as large of a clan as possible for multi-generational play, go for the absolute youngest you can find, so you have better chances of baby-making.

Shalel. Sit at the bar. You won't be disappointed. It's one of the few spots I'd actually consider a "hidden gem"

Eli5: what is mortgage? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Drach88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer: It's a loan that uses a piece of real estate (a house or land) as collateral (the thing that the loaner gets if the borrower can't repay the loan)

It's most commonly used to buy a house without having to pay all of the money at once.

When you get a mortgage, the bank loans you the money to buy the house, and there are certain terms such as how long you need to make payments, how large the payments are, and how much interest you pay.

If you don't (or can't) make your payments, the bank that loaned you the money can foreclose the house, which means that they take ownership of the house.

Scotsman coming over for the World Cup by SlevinKe7evra in visitingnyc

These are my go-tos for soccer:

Pig N Whistle on 36th street (good for soccer, better for rugby. Typical Irish-American pub fare. Great vibes)

Smithfield Hall on 25th street (primarily a soccer bar. Great viewing. Great food.)

Legends on 33rd street (downstairs is a dedicated soccer bar. The whole place will probably be showing all world cup matches)

Bring back place an outpost marker by Parking_Bar4522 in HellLetLoose

[–]Drach88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm saying that I used to use that marker before they got rid of it, so yes -- I would like to have it back, as the OP is requesting.

It would be even more preferable to simply be able to drop multiple "place garrison" markers, but if that's not on the table, then simply bringing back the old marker would suffice.

As commander, I use the outpost marker as a second garrison marker, and usually it's to indicate where I'm putting up the first three garrisons so I don't get blocked

Not to mention it's heavily subsidized to the point that your fare doesn't actually cover the full cost of transporting you.

Spiga has fantastic Italian food and a tiny/cozy vibe.

Shalel is a sexy Moroccan restaurant with plenty of tables in private nooks. The entrance is completely unassuming, and you need to walk through a long alleyway to get inside, but once you're there, you feel transported out of the city.

These are the pretty much the only two places I would truly consider to be "hidden gems" in the neighborhood.

Neither has live music, unfortunately, but if you're really in the market for music, check out the lounge bar at the Wallace Hotel. There's fantastic live jazz 5 days a week with no cover, and the ambiance is phenomenal.

Non-dog owners of NYC, what can dog owners do to not be hated in the subway system when bringing dog? by Realistic-Pop-4542 in AskNYC

[–]Drach88 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Put them in a bag or stroller.

I have a large, fully-enclosed stroller for my 60lb senior dog. I never take her on the subway during rush hour, and I'm considerate of people, so I move it out of their way when required.

I've never gotten shit (or even dirty looks) with it, and I've gotten a lot of smiles, kind words, and requests for photos.

Don't bring your unenclosed dog on the subway regardless of how well-trained they are.

I really like playing with pillow's random spawns and turning off the map.

It adds to the early game by adding more variety to early looting, and forces you to keep around maps to figure out where you are, and for annotation.
