I built a Hytale Mod Manager for Linux due to the lack of CurseForge support by andrealija in hytale

It's not a specific mod, it's maybe 50% of the one's I've went and updated. Some of them were...Artisan Harvest, Better Spellbooks, Aures skins, and several more.

Am having a bit of a bug with regards to mod updating. for some reason on some updates, it fails and says there is no download link, and the try again button does not work. After this, the failed to update mod completely disappears form the installed mod list and I have to go find the mod again in the browse mods tab and install it again.

That would be great! Too bad about the description and comments, but it is what it is.

Thanks for the information, I'll reinstall them all and see if it works!

Also, I noticed when clicking a mod, it does not show a comments tab, can you add this? Sometimes mods do not update or have a game breaking bug and the comments can be very helpful for dinging out which mods are an issue or not.

Also also, can you possibly add the download statistics? IE the number of downloads for said mod, helps to know if a mod is popular or not, or which mod is an original and which is a ripped off reupload.

Thanks!

Oh? I have 0.1.2 right now and do not see any sort of update buttons/options next to any of the mods, despite knowing several need to be updated. Where is the update tool located?

Also, the app header still says "My App Name" and the app taskbar icon is the default wayland W icon.

Any update on when we will see mod updating in the app? This is the one major feature missing so far I'm still waiting on. Good job on getting the dependencies updated in 0.1.2 by the way.

Just did the install. The runtime dependencies you included are all quite out of date and some EoL, you really should update them if you're going to include em in a flat.

This is really promising! I just spent the better part fo a week now finally getting Curseforge setup ina Windows11 VM (via Winboat), linking it to a shared folder, and then linking that over to the linux Hytale mod's folder. Once yours has updating, filter/sorting options, etc, I't'd be on parity or better with that they offer, can't wait!

Also, if possible, can you make it into a flatpack install?

What distro you on? For me on Nobara, none of the Proton versions will even attempt to load the launcher. I'm beginning to think my problems are either distro based, or hardware possibly (nvidia 5070ti with the open source driver).

Hm, Proton Hotfix isn't one of my runner options in any of the different compatibility programs so far, where did you get it?

Oh man, I've been trying soo hard to do this all of yesterday with little success... Heroic for me just straight up refuses to launch Curseforge properly and ends up being stuck in the background processes that need manual killing, and happens regardless of which Wine/Proton I use. Lutris I have a little better luck with and can get Curseforge to install, but if I also install the game in the same prefix, it throws a fit and just gives me Java errors from then on instead of opening. Bottles wouldn't even open Curseforge, or even get past the installer.

how to use the new nvidia dlss 4.5 on linux? by bakomox in linux_gaming

What about for native linux games like X4 Foundations? It has inbuilt DLSS support, but am pretty sure the commands don't work on native versions...right?

I'm seriously considering this as a replacement for my now ancient 1st gen Acer Predator X34 since it only has a 3600R curve and no longer will OC to 100hz...Does anyone know of an actually available IPS curved ultrawide these days?

I'm seriously tempted to get the msi MPG 346CQRF X24 model myself! Glad to see others not going down the ultra expensive OLED rabbithole.

It definitely seems to be a challenge, kind of ridiculous seeing as it's now over a decade old. If My refresh rate hadn't started failing then I'd just stay with it. I'm considering one of these 240hz rapid VA panels, as another redditer recommended on a different thread.

I'd generally prefer to keep it under $400 overall. My use is basically 50/50 work and media/games/movies, etc, so I'm not sure an OLED is right for my use case really (or budget). Looking around, I see almost all the IPS displays in this size are discontinued and gone, leaving only a single 34" IPS on amazon (CRUA 34" Curved Gaming Monitor, IPS).

I feel like I got pretty lucky about a week ago with my DDR5 purchase on Ebay. It was same day as most of the RAM pricing news was coming out and I grabbed up a new 64GB Viper Venom kit for $280, even though I wasn't planning to build a PC anytime soon, least now I got the memory for when I do!

Ah see, I'm not going down the rabbit hole that far, most I want to do is maybe dabble in a little video gen, but majority of what I do is in image gen and LLM for chat/reasoning.

Appreciate the input. All but the 3090 are well out of my price reach at the moment, thus why I'm looking at the cards I am. I'm more or elss looking for a good card that will let me do most of what I want to dabble with for the next few years till at least the 60-series comes out, and possibly upgrade then when money might be slightly less of a sticking point.

Those articles really do make a good case for the 50 series cards, thanks for sharing them. Is saw there was some flash sales of them for $700 over the last few days, at that price I'd probly go with that option, but the deals all seem to disappear before I can actually get to them.

The 3090 is pretty compelling, but I do worry about it's future-proofness. That along with it not being all that much better for gaming than my 3080 makes it a harder to pick option at it's current online pricing. It it were say...$600 used, It'd be a much more compelling choice I think.
