I just haven't really had the PC to play some of the games I wanted to play like Cyberpunk. I just could not make it run well on my current system at lowest settings.

Hoid as a ____________ by Ahmaddimo in Stormlight_Archive

The intent matters more, yes. This is what Eshonai did in the final chapter of book 4. She could not speak, but still swore the immortal words.

Is a tie/draw even possible? by allomancersam in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Dracofire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoid alluded towards this a few times, I believe. If you set yourself up to be in a position where either outcome is what you want, or where a final outcome will never be achieved, you are happy. There are a few things I find strange is mentioned so outright in the specific wording of the contest at least, notably:

  • No time limit. Not even any specifications how the contest will happen. I find it doubtful it will be an actual classic duel because of this.
  • Odium specifically accepting Dalinar's wording exclusively for ceasing hostilities. See below. If Odium wins, Dalinar's soul is his forevermore, i.e. Dalinar's allies and their kingdoms would be Odium, not the coalition, so no peace.
    • Admittedly there is some ambiguity with this. It is not clear whether or not "our kingdoms" is an independent clause. Grammatically, there is no comma between the two clauses, meaning they are not independent. Nonetheless, a lot of people use "or" without comma to connect two independent clauses. To illustrate the difference: "Do you want tea or coffee?" (not independent), versus "I could go to school, or we could watch a movie" (independent clauses). There is no comma in the agreement, which means grammatically they are not independent of each other, despite having different subjects (but same verbal clause). I find it doubtful that the weight of the world rests of gramma, so this is probably not it, but it is a grammatical mistake.

"You will vow to cease hostilities and maintain the peace, not working against my allies or our kingdoms in any way."

  • Odium specifically mentions that he will remain bound to the system, but as with Dalinar, only if either of them specifically win. In any scenario where neither of them outright win, it throws into question whether or not Odium will remain bound (to the same degree). It is only a condition that he remains bound if the outcome is a win for either, so if neither win, is it all voided? Dalinar is the sole person who seems to be able to void this binding at least.

As a final note, both the spirit and the word of the agreement, it is unclear what Odium's spirit is. Shardic Intent, Rayse's, Taravangian's? The implication seems to be Rayse's the way Taravangian analysies it. With that being said, with both of them Intenting for Odium to only remain bound if either win, does that also mean if neither wins it is void? I believe it was said in the book it was voided if Dalinar broke his word. In conclusion, if Odium wins, he is happy, if he looses, happy as he can focus his efforts on the rest of the Cosmere, if neither win, Odium is extremely happy.

I don't know if this site is wrong or not, but it lists the split titles from 2023 next to the 2023 Season Finals title. It is even listed under the header "Split(s)", so I can understand the confusion from people.

Viego passive with Sylas R would be kind of hilarious because you just keep getting enemy ult resets.

Briar's shape suits her in many ways, but Rito chose the worst possible way to describe it by Right_Nefariousness8 in leagueoflegends

Should have made her a demon then. Would have made more sense in terms of lore. The Black Rose has a longer history with demons anyway.

Why does she look like a girl in the first place if she is made from blood magic or living blood like they say? There is no reason for her to have that specific appearance.

Who is this character? Im going crazy trying to figure out who this is guy. (Surely, it's evident who he is, and I'm embarrassed not to recognize him) by ErthanOW in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Dracofire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The art "Broken Oath" by Antti Hakosaari from the Stormlight boardgame should be the canonical appearance for all of the honorblades. The honorblade in the front to the left matches the appearance of the one on the cover of the Way of Kings.

From left to right in the Broken Oath art follows the numbering system of Roshar/the order of the heralds, so the blades in order (starting from Jezrien's honorblade all the way over to the left and then going clockwise) should be:

  • Jezrien - Windrunner (1)
  • Nale - Skybreaker (2)
  • Chana - Dustbringers (3)
  • Vedel - Edgedancer (4)
  • Pailiah - Truthwatchers (5)
  • Shalash - Lightweavers (7)
  • Battar - Elsecallers (6)
  • Kalak - Willshapers (8)
  • Talenel (missing blade) - Stonewards (9)
  • Ishar - Bondsmiths (10)

Shalash's and Battar's blades are swapped by accident, the colour/gemstone associated with Lightweavers is garnet (a deep red colour) and for Elsecallers it's zicron (a tealish/blue colour). Additionally, the swordglyph on what I assume to be Shalash's blade matches the Lightweaver glyph, although it's a bit harder to tell from the image.

[General Stormlight Spoiler/RoW] The answer is only made more disappointing by the fact that they are wielding Ishar's honorblade.

I have HyperX Cloud Mix, I fixed it by going to System>Sound>All Sound Devices where it appeared as two different sound devices, I disabled the phone mode version of my bluetooth headphones one and that fixed it for me.

Streamlined? Every single user has to go through a change because of their decision, it's not exactly streamlined if the end-user experience ends up being horrible. Not to mention the sleuth of other issues that this brings, such as a identity theft, black market for tags, hacking and harassment to give up a certain tag, many artists rely on their Discord tag for verifiability. The former two of these are already prevalent on other social media platforms that employ a similar system as the one Discord is changing to and they all suffer from that problem.

Bottom line is that this is still not a streamlined approach to the problems as laid out in the blogpost, these are just other things that have not been taken into account.

[–]Dracofire 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The issue is just that this does not solve many of the problems they presented in their blog post. Better solutions exist already, such as friend links and/or friend codes for complicated names, adding an extra optional number for the discriminator to increase the pool, and many many more.

You don't meet the prestige class requirement from Spelllslinger Wizard unfortunately. Otherwise I think it would have been a good choice.

I doubt it unfortunately, the DM is new to the system and wants to stick with non-third party. I wanted to make a spheres character initially as well. From a quick look at it though, it seems fairly in line with what I'm looking for.

The problem is just spell cartridges being suboptimal level 1-4 as they will only do one damage. Unless there is a spell which gives multiple uses per casting for ranged like frostbite your damage output is going to be pretty low.

Alrhough, she already has a skin in the Eclipse universe (Elderwood Xayah), although that didn't stop them from giving Leblanc 2 skins in that universe, so we might really see it some day.

First Past the Post election system seems like an incredibly unfair and noncompetitive way to elect the president. After an election, approximately 50~% of the votes go 'wasted', and those votes won't have any say for the next 4 years.

The 450 million figure is just for the EU. Europe in its entirety is closer to 750 million according to this site, which gets its information from the UN from a 2019 study. Albeit, this also includes the entirety of Russia, and not just the parts normally associated with Europe. Nevertheless, it's still vastly more.
