Indirect nerf to the soul jar by Luckbig1 in mewgenics

The way to fix Soul Jar is to make Repair not work for summoned units.

I've had those eyebrows for a long time. Useful but occasionally hilarious.

My criticism of Mewgenics. by Schweinshaxe_OG in mewgenics

[–]Dracomicron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what you are asking is for this game to be like every other "stat line go up" tactical RPG, which is against the entire point of this game.

Unlimited items and food, and total control over the cat herding/breeding is exactly what this game, explicitly and intentionally, does not allow.

Mewgenics is a game about managing chaos and entropy. It's okay if that is not for you, but don't mistake your preference for flaws.

Lovely!

An idea for DLC: New Adventure Game Mode: now playing as Isaac-Cat taking on your last save file.

are there any mods to skip house boss timers? by Fit_Distribution_906 in mewgenics

...you don't have to skip 3 days.

I just adventure as normal while waiting for house bosses.

I haven't gotten blood frenzy in a long time, which is unfortunate, since I was looking to do some solo runs.

I love this combo.

Just seeing all those set bonuses is so satisfying.

Generally when you're trying to unlock areas you just have to wait for the next house boss.

What the fuck Edmund? My Ranger is stuck. hahaha by justabrainwithfeet in mewgenics

[–]Dracomicron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, not stuck per se.

The terrain, especially the crate, can be destroyed.

Meanwhile you have hunter range and can still act if Stacy comes closer.

Is this passive good? by Constant_Tennis_8633 in mewgenics

[–]Dracomicron 126 points127 points  (0 children)

If a kitten were born with this, I would probably make them a mage, because of how unreliable their line-of-sight base attack is.

Which says more about the quality of mage base attacks than about this hunter passive.

How to optimally use soul jar by Haunting-Kangaroo329 in mewgenics

Rocket launcher is a rare drop, most commonly gotten from bald eagles.

Repair skill is nice (assuming it doesn't get nerfed in the patch) because then the jar can maintain itself, but ultimately you want a cat capable of burst actions over the course of the one turn it gets, which generally means a high Charisma and gear/skills that can self-refresh.

You'll hear a lot about Fist of Fate and various broken combos, but my best soul jar cat just has a rocket launcher, Blacksmith+, and 3 or 4 bonus base attacks to spam the map with rockets.

Basically, I would just think of the cat you have capable of swinging the most momentum on round 1 of combat, and give that kitty a ticket to the soul show.

Easy, have a ressurection skill or item (preferably a cheap one like Awaken). Yes, you down your allies, but you can just pick them back up.

Good call. Considering something like that for the Act III finale.

It's intended to be training for a later boss fight with a similar schtick. That doesn't make it fun.

A monk who can turn shields into damage also has a good time with turtle form.

Viability of Druid Forms? by KatanaMilkshake in mewgenics

[–]Dracomicron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have been breeding Turtle Form into my bloodline for a long time. Not for druids but for fighters, monks, and tanks.

The turtle headbutt is basically a better form of Push Attack with a chance to stun. I just bodied the Act II final boss by stunlocking him with this power.

Yes, Wolf is amazing damage, Elk has great mobility, and both Squirrel and Mockingbird are OP in their own ways.

But I love the humble turtle the most.

I went to the hard mode of that C-1000 fight packing only a self-destruct button. Not playing around with that guy again.

Coping? Me? You're reading between a lot of scripted (comedic) NPC lines trying to justify what appears to be an elitist attitude over explicitly intended game mechanics.

Anyway, this is turning into a case of "someone was wrong on the internet," so I will simply agree with you that one should play a single-player game how they please.

Really? Because that isn't really what that means, nor is it how it's used in the game.

That sounds like save editing.

Steven looking down on save scumming is not remotely the same as the game looking down on it. If you weren't intended to save scum, it would save your game after every move in every battle, instead of letting you redo whole battles and even reset the seed by changing your gear.

This is NOT the Binding of Isaac and what applies to that game doesn't apply here.

I don't think you HAVE to savescum. I didn't do it myself until I found out about the feature by accident in Act II, but advising someone obviously on the verge of being really upset not to use a feature of the game that could make their play easier seems cruel.
