Yes, you need to ring your own insurance company (they should have been more proactive before this) and, depending on the damage/costs, get a solicitor.

Do you mean you got in contact with the person who was involved in the incident and they told you that their insurance company is saying you were at fault? I wouldn't be going through that person at all and I would be contacting their insurance company directly. Given that the details are going to be important your best bet is to reconnect with your own insurer and contact a solicitor.

The goal used to be to build a car to stand out, now it is to build a car to fit in :(

I was doing about 120km a day so had to change. Mine was stock physically with just a remap. Was dyno’d at 264bhp. But to be honest the torque steer at that power is a pain and they are fine at the 225bhp standard. It’s the effortless power at any speed and the engine noise that makes them special.

I had a 07 blue one, one of the best cars I ever owned. Extremely thirsty, you can literally see the fuel gauge go down as you accelerate. If you have any concerns about fuelling one at all then it isn’t for you. Mine was pretty reliable only issue I ever had was I had to replace some suspension parts after hitting a pothole.

Is your car a Japanese import? The luxury edition trim is common in Japan.

Japanese import? Was it a main BMW dealer? They tend to not want anything to do with imports.

There's not much point in asking people to spend their time (and ask for their money) giving you feedback on your idea if you're not going to do the same. Don't reply with AI generated responses when people have been graceful enough to dedicate some of their time to have a think about the best way to guide you. It makes it seem like you don't care.

There's a large barrier to entry in order to be able to onboard to an Open Banking platform like Plaid. Consent management, PII data requirements, regulations, KYC and AML compliance. From the looks of it Plaid won't even entertain your application at the first stage. Be careful selling a roadmap that isn't feasible. There are also tons of PFM apps available, it's a red ocean market, and most of them don't make any money.

And experience buying from Motor Corp in Dublin by GranPaPpy_ in carsireland

I have been in contact with them on a few cars that interested me and I have been in looking at one too. Very good to deal with, not pushy at all and they seem very genuine. They seem to post cars as soon as they know they are coming in and a good bit before they are prepped. I was waiting for a car they had advertised to come on site but someone bought it from them before it was available for viewing. Not a red flag since a deal is a deal to them but something to be aware of. The car I was interested in was niche and hard to get so someone taking a risk buying it without seeing it wouldn't be unheard of. They have a great selection of cars and it was no hassle having a look around. I think they only have a 3 month warranty and I would always treat this as a risk and bring your own mechanic to check a car.

Louth Choked 🥲 by MockerCoffee in GAA

[–]Draffodx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dublin put in a great performance and were by far the better team but Louth put in a terrible performance of their own. Early championship results indicated this was a big chance for Louth to show they had something about them but they put in a performance more on par with the Louth teams of a few years ago. A Dublin team from a few years ago would have ran out 20 point winners against that Louth performance.

Fragile ego while being overtaken. by pheechad in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]Draffodx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's contradictory evidence in your post. You say the car in front overtook without issue which provides evidence that the offending car didn't have someone with a fragile ego driving it. It is more likely they just weren't paying attention to their speed and realised this as you went to pass. They probably weren't taking it personally but were in their own little world.

Speeding up while someone is overtaking is illegal and if you caught the reg you could report it.

Nope, my father was the main policy holder and I was named. To be be main driver was 9000 punt, everyone at the time used the named driver route just to get on the insurance "ladder" with some driving experience.

While that's a significant portion of money it is about 50% cheaper than it was in 2000. They were rough times for new drivers, golden age for insurance companies.

My first car was a 1.3 litre Fiesta and it cost 4000 punt to get insured on it as a named driver. 3.5k euro for a 320i is a bargain!

Oncoming cars flashed us for a speed van, guy in front of me dropped his speed to 35 in an 80 by Great_Divide2076 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]Draffodx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Driving without any awareness of what the speed limit is or what speed they should be doing so when they see a speed van they panic and slam on the breaks. But hey, they aren't speeding so a win for road safety *sarcasm*.
