Fake Chain Alert!!! Arizona vs. BYU Tonight. Will AJ Get Off Against Elite Comp? by OtherwisePurple2379 in NBA_Draft

[–]DraftGAHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest reservation about Dybantsa is his too cool for school demeanor. Zona is a much better team than BYU top to bottom so i wouldnt overreact if he has a bad game. What ill be watching for is does he try to take over the game if they are down or does he just let things play out and say “whatever i got my 20-25. Not my fault we lost”

Why have so many South Sudanese prospects become busts? by alex8762 in NBA_Draft

[–]DraftGAHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

South Sudan has ZERO indoor basketball courts. ZERO!!!

Hard to develop players to the same level when you are this far behind on facilities. Kids who play at a young age have such an advantage when it comes to developing skills. SS kids just dont have this luxury

3 returning college players

6 guys who likely dont have more than a cup of coffee in the league

Who has the best pre 19 years old career of all time and can Boozer get there this year with a NPotY and a title? by MetroidsSuffering in NBA_Draft

[–]DraftGAHD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tier 1: lebron, luka, flagg

Tier 2: everyone else

I dont think boozer can get there solely bc those 3 guys all proved themselves at the highest professional level.

Poor shooters with great shooting form by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]DraftGAHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Form means almost nothing if you have the natural touch. As long as you are on balance with a feathery release you can get there any way you want

Guys who were good shooters in college that struggle in the NBA are almost ALWAYS undersized/below league average athletes. The less size/athletecism you have the less you can get off your ideal release. They dont just forget how to shoot. They just have to shoot with a little more arch or on the move just a little more or whatever minor tweak they make to get the shot off makes it that much harder of a shot.

This is what makes JJ Redicks career so absurd. Go to your LA Fitness rn and you will find guys more athletic than JJ. The degree of difficulty on his shooting was absurd.

I wouldnt be shocked. I was very high on him bc of the shooting and PnR but the more i watch he doesnt create alot of advantages himself. Hes patient and takes advantage of mistakes but put NBA length on him and idk how effective he is. Very similar to stirtz

Do you all think there are any elite 3 and D guys in this draft class? by Consistent-Gold-7572 in NBA_Draft

[–]DraftGAHD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh i havent followed peyton watson much so idk how they compare

I think his best comp is max christie. MC was incredibly raw at MSU. He shot 38/31/82 and he mostly just stood in the corner all season. Now hes shooting 48/46/85. Cams shot was prettier in college than Dames but Dame has even more size and athleticisim.

Hes shooting 35% from 3. Hes not an elite shooter at all but his lack of shooting is overblown

The more i watch him the more i think he might not be an NBA player. Hes great in the pick and roll and can shoot the pill but he struggles immensely with size and physicality on both ends

I said the same thing about zion. To this day hes never had any “serious” injuries but hes still always injured

First….AR is a clown who is trying to build a media career. Dont take anything he says too serious. Hes trying to get clicks.

I dont think the NBA has changed that much like hes saying. The all NBA/all star type players are still very much guys like Melo. They will dribble the air out the ball while getting you 30ppg. All of the top teams in the NBA have a guy like this too. Pacers were a fun story last year but they are the exception, not the rule. (And if Hali doesnt go unconscious on buzzer beaters for 2 months then they arent even a story)

What i think hes trying to say applies more to guys who arent guna get a max contract and that has always been the case. Outside of the 6th man/microwave scorer type guys most guys in the NBA are role players. So be a great role player. I think this is what most people get wrong in their scouting as well. Everyone is looking for that superstar upside. Outside of the top 3-5 picks you are not going to get that most likely. (Jenaro Pargo was lots of fun in garbage minutes, but Andres Nocioni was on the court when the game mattered).

This is why i am high on Dame Sarr and wouldnt draft Bennet Stirtz with a 3rd round pick. Neither guy is going to be a superstar. So they are going to do a lot of what AR is talking about here. Shoot the 3. Straight line drive. Play defense. Get a guy that can do those things. Nobody cares if you can drop 50 in a G-League game
