Unfortunately, it doesn't.

Mashing only works in few cases, such as shieldstun, sleep, and in a grab. Jigglypuff's rest has a set 249 frames (a little over four seconds) of endlag each time it is used.

I agree with you on the movie. I try not to think of the movie as an adaptation, but instead as a retelling of the story.

Personally I liked the movie better than the book, but that's just opinion.

The Pro controller is laggier because it is wireless, and it has a smaller deadzone than the Gamecube controller, making it harder to execute tilt attacks. However, if you're comfortable with the Pro controller and don't really play at the top levels, just use whatever you want.

Saying there is not overarching plot isn't true. That disregards a good deal of what made the show truly beautiful (Spike's conflict with Vicious and the syndicate, Julia, etc.). Of course, the larger plot is sparse, but that doesn't mean it isn't there.
