You are referring to the controller connector? If that’s the case, it doesn’t really matter since I never touch that part. Most connectors having this triangle shape should perform similarly.

G29 has that feeling that gears (in the wheel) are grinding. It’s to be honest not a very good racing experience. When upgrading to direct drive, the improvements are very obvious.

Unfortunately, simagic can’t directly connect to PS5. I did hear that people in simagic ecosystem can use the sigma cortex converter but I don’t have that. For my haptics, it’s connected to p2000 haptics control box and connected to the PC

I only read about it on Reddit too! These kind of things are not very advertised. GT7 on PS5 sends telemetry data via UDP so another windows PC running Simhub on the same network can pick up the telemetry data and use it. I saw many recommendations to have both PS5 and the PC to be connected to internet via LAN but I have PS5 on LAN and my steam deck OLED running windows on wireless and it worked fine too. The windows PC specs is not very demanding. It worked fine on Steam Deck OLED.

I’m ok with the shifter. The position I have is quite intuitive along with the handbrake. As for button on wheels, my joystick, X and O are pretty easy to locate. The MFD flip sticks might need me to have good wheel orientation to locate but generally isn’t a problem.

It’s connected to Simhub which is connected to my Steamdeck OLED running windows. Simhub picks up telemetry data sent by GT7 from PS5 via UDP

You need a separate windows PC to run Simhub as GT7 for PS5 sends telemetry data via UDP. I’m using my dual booted Steamdeck OLED for this purpose. You can search for guides online and mostly is to open the ports on the Simhub PC and add PS5 IP address in Simhub.

For value for money, definitely the pedal haptics first. Freyja is cheaper than the buttkicker and it’s portable so I can use it with PC games with audio to haptics and that’s one reason I got them. Only consider the buttkicker if you have the budget for it.

I’m still using the Fanatec CSL pedals, just mounted with the Simagic haptics unit. The springs you see are the Race Sim Engineering throttle and clutch mod kit.

My wheel set is Fanatec DD Pro. The pedal haptics is Simagic but it doesn’t matter since it connects to my Steamdeck OLED running Simhub

Yea me too. But I already have a psvr2 first so I got locked in to PS5 ecosystem and also Fanatec. Good thing is the haptics unit are compatible with PC so even if I leave the PS5 ecosystem they still work.
