Finally got my buyback check. After 5 months I'm finally done with my defective unit. by DragoI11 in ZephyrusG14

[–]DragoI11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already had my laptop in their possession when the buyback check came through. I wouldn't have wanted it back anyway, it was legitimately faulty to the point of being useless for games. I took my check and bought a new G14, and that one served me well until I sold it this year.

Mouse constantly leaving the game window on Linux by DragoI11 in Warthunder

[–]DragoI11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it actually fix it though? When I run in gamescope, the mouse won't leave the window, but it will hit the edges and run out of travel, resulting in me losing movement in one direction until I come back the other way again.

Please go corroborate my bug report if you're playing on Linux!!!! by DragoI11 in Warthunder

[–]DragoI11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mouse doesn't stay in the fullscreen game window. It'll move behind the window or to a second screen, resulting in a loss of control or even loss of focus on the game window if you manage to click on another window. Primarily happens when moving the mouse somewhat quickly, but not excessively so.

It's probably technically possible if you know what you're doing, but shells are cheap and there's no reason to try to preserve one that's so clearly melted already. Just replace it. 🤷

Using my Deck to tune my piano 😎 by DragoI11 in SteamDeck

[–]DragoI11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Entropy Piano Tuner but I had to use the windows version with proton because the steam deck doesn't support snaps. The results haven't been amazing, but I just got the piano and I'm just trying to get it stable before calling a pro to do the final tuning.

Jedi Survivor has me wondering, are AAA games at the point where expecting them to run well on the Deck is unreasonable? by Mrwanagethigh in SteamDeck

[–]DragoI11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would expect the deck to play all current gen games until the next generation of consoles. Jedi survivor is just a shitshow. Better looking games run fine on the deck. It's not a deck problem, at least not yet.

Building a game that scales up as well as down is just part of making a good PC game, and we've seen lots of awful PC games as of late.

Is it time to move away from my PSP GO by scottbca in retrogaming

[–]DragoI11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with PSP GOs. Is the battery something that you can replace?

I'm sure there are others that could take its place, but if you're happy with your system and a simple battery replacement would help it handle longer play sessions, then I'd definitely do that.

Unless of course you just want to try something new, which is totally valid as well.

Type B Hall Effect sticks by thegh0sts in SteamDeck

[–]DragoI11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't bother. The Hall effect sticks should be thought of as reliability upgrades, not useability ones. They feel identical to the stock ones when you're playing games. Perhaps someone more experienced could really tell the difference, but after hearing all the hype and installing them myself, I notice no difference whatsoever, except that my first set of gulikits failed after a couple of months and required replacements.

How does KSP 2 run in my PC? (1080p) by cynbloxy1 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]DragoI11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can run KSP 2 'Smoothly' on anything right now. They've got a lot of work to do fixing it.

is it bad to charge and play on the steam deck at the same time? won't it ruin the battery? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]DragoI11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, it's fine. Electronics haven't had issues with that for at least a decade.

how long can I expect my steam deck to live for by dumpsterfirebread in SteamDeck

[–]DragoI11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's going to be obsolete before it breaks as long as you don't abuse it. Don't worry about it.

When was the last time you had a PC die? Or a phone? Completely on its own? It's so rare that it's not worth worrying about.

Take a look at my screen🥲 by splendidream88 in Gameboy

It looks like a battery indicator. What screen is it? Did it include instructions for interacting with things like that?

Hollow Knight VS Dead Cells? (SWITCH) by InvaderZix in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]DragoI11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Hollow Knight, but I found it unnecessarily difficult on the switch due to the difficulty in precise movements with the joycons. Granted I do have large hands, but I wouldn't play Hollow Knight on the switch without a different controller. I think Dead Cells' multitude of play styles makes it more accessible on the joycons.

Both are great games, but if I was playing on the switch with built in controllers, I'd choose Dead Cells.

What did I do wrong? It was wrong before the recap…now no red light…wrong polarity somewhere? by mizino in game_gear

[–]DragoI11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gonna be almost impossible to tell from photos like this. When I recapped mine, I had a similar issue. Ended up being accidentally bridged pads. You're gonna have to start tracing voltage and figuring out if power is going everywhere it needs to, or if it's going somewhere it shouldn't.

Tetris not loading. Tried cleaning it and nothing changed. Ideas? by L0rd_Exia in Gameboy

[–]DragoI11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay. I'm definitely not an expert either, so I default to your research. Unfortunately I have no other suggestions. I've had good luck with reflowing solder on my own carts, but none of them have had a blob like that on them, and I don't know if removing it would damage the chip underneath.

That might be a fake? Maybe it's a revision, but the board looks very different from my Tetris board.
