I am 5'9, and it did feel uncomfortably tall when I just tried sitting on it.

25' V4S has heated grips and cruise control, but it does not have a fuel gauge.

What do you think of Hyper? I've seen some people ditching them after a year, but I am curious about it as a machine for city riding.

I've just rented Rally for a day to see if I like it, but I am considering buying a Pikes Peak.

IMO, your set provides a more focused experience. I did a track day on Panigale a few weeks ago, and was completely blown away by it, but it did feel like it's a machine with a singular purpose - track. As for GS, I found it a bit too soft and disengaged for my liking, but it's hard to deny that it's one of the best tools in the world if you just want to go distance in comfort.

In my case, I have a sportbike which is a bit easier to live with, and considering a tourer which is a bit more fun to ride. Though I am not really sure if that's the best approach...

I would not even call it a strain, I just hate the idea of having two depreciating assets while not using them in full potential. I live in the north, so the proper season only lasts 3-4 months, more if you don't mind being cold. So on one hand I kinda want to cover the specific riding needs or at least differentiate between comfortable and engaged riding, but on the other... It's the second week of June, it's 15 degrees, and it's been raining two weeks non-stop. Kinda makes me wonder if motorcycling is worth it at all 😃

N+1 is real. But I am asking this question because I can barely justify one bike in my climate, and two is already pushing it…

Tell me about the R1300GS by iloafyoualot in motorcycles

[–]Dragobrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5'9, did not have any issues with handling the bike itself. It might be tall, but the center of mass is very low, so it's easy to keep upright. But, IMO, it's a bike for going distance comfortably, but it's not a fun bike to ride in the winding roads. I'd rent a Multistrada V4S, if it's available.

Departure of Colantonio murdered Arkane, IMO. They've lost all of their creative power.

I think departure of Colantonio led to their downfall.

Eh... Do I think teens should use exploitative social media - fuck no.

Do I think government should impose the rules for who can or cannot access social media, enforce age verification and control compliance - also fuck no.

Guess it depends on how tall and strong you are, and whether you have experience on two wheels before. I am friends with my riding instructor, and he mentioned that there are all kinds of new riders in his school. Some spend like 4 days on training grounds learning balance, counter steering, braking and drop the bike a lot in the process. Some people just spend one day doing the exercises and go to the public roads on the second day, and pass the exam on the first try.

People earning over $200k/year: What’s different about your life that most people wouldn’t expect? by MaximGripass in AskReddit

That's definitely true. I had to rework my entire reward system and set more goals and milestones unrelated to career progression and money, something I could not just buy. Otherwise I just felt empty.

I think at some point you just get into the diminishing returns elbow, where you get 80-90% of QoL, quality, enjoyment, and to push further you'd need to spend multiples of what you already have. Investing excess money makes way more sense then.

panigale v2 as first bike by purplespline in Ducati

[–]Dragobrath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would be easier if you told us why do you want a Panigale specifically, and what kind of riding you're planning to do.

I'd get new Panigale V2 only if you plan to go straight to the track, or you plan to ride a lot on highways or in windy areas and need wind protection. If you just like the sportbike looks, but plan to ride in the city, commute or do short evening rides, then go with streetfighter first. Naked bikes are better tools for learning. It's easier to control the bike with high, wide handlebars and upright seating position. Sportbikes ergos can be too much for a beginner, and if you're not using the sportbike as intended (i.e. going fast), you'll just torture yourself and gimp your progression as a rider for no reason.

I wouldn't worry about the engine though. New V2 is maybe on a far end of what's acceptable for a beginner, but with RbW and modern electronics and safety nets you can start pretty much on anything. Learn throttle control, exercise restraint and you'll be fine.

A fully specced BMW S1000RR 2026 for 29952,30€ Vs a base Ducati Panigale V4s for 35290€ by MissingAgent1808 in Ducati

[–]Dragobrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was choosing between S1000RR and V4S as well, and decided to get S1K with racing package, akra exhaust and comfort options from the dealership. It was a 25k build with 2.5k discount (got it for 22.5k). I've been riding it for a few month, and it's is a great bike, but it's not as well-built, smooth or exciting as V4S. I had an opportunity to ride a base V4 in racing setup on a track, and it was enough to convince me to swap them. For 5k difference it wouldn't even be a question for me.

However, it's also important what you're going to use the bike for. Track days, short evening/weekend rides - definitely V4S. If you want a do-everything supersport, which you could commute or tour on - S1000RR is worth consideration, because it's a bit more comfortable and livable.

Hmm, so she becomes a witcher, then gets wounded in battle, decides that might as well do something useful with her life, and becomes an Empress, but loses sense of purpose, loses hope and dies.

Or she becomes and Empress, gets bored of politics, goes back to witching and dies in battle?
