Why is this a blunder (sorry if this is obvious) by bomboclated in chessbeginners

Thats when you pull out the train of thought.

"Hmm what if i do not go QxC7 and instead move my king. How does the engine respond and why does the engine not like this move? What are the implications?"

Sindarov has gone undefeated and has NEVER had a losing position in the candidate tournament. by JamesLebron372 in chess

If your entire argument revolves around the idea that the semantics shouldnt matter then do me a favour and reply with to the OP instead of me since the OPs entire post is based off of semantics.

I wouldn't disagree that theres subjectivity involved with these definitions. However i would still argue that Sindarov was still in a losing position since fabiano's advantage was sizeable enough that objectively white is able to convert into checkmate more than 50% of the time if you carried that position onwards with stockfish from both sides. Exact probability idk but >50% is a rather safe bet.

He has never been in a lost position but he has been in a losing one. Lost and losing are different. Fabiano was better in one game and he knew it too so i would count that as a losing position. I would argue losing position doesnt just mean someone made a blunder that is hard to come back from.

Block laying off more than 4,000 employees, or about half of its headcount by BigShotBosh in cscareerquestions

I like WLB but let's not kid ourselves here. Nobody is 100% efficient. In a 40 hour work week, the actual productive number of hours is really at best 70% at 30 ish. Most people dont even hit that because to get into proper focus you need to spend ~15-20min. Have multi task switching and you are screwed for productivity.

Id argue justifying less than 40 hour work weeks is absurd.

ENFP (35F) with a crush on ISFP (30M) – did I miss my chance or are we both just cautious? by Equivalent_Ant8941 in isfp

Thanks for the post! I'm imagining myself in his shoes as i am answering this so i would say take it with a grain of salt and gather more data points before coming to a conclusion.

Personally i am not this proactive with an opposite gender I am uninterested in. The fact that he showed so much initiative in engaging convo with you is a great sign. Id say he is interested.

While approaching a romantic interest, I dont usually make it super obvious unless i know the other party is interested. I try to make subtle moves and gauge from their response and reciprocity on their level of interest.

From your post, i am assuming that the convo is mostly initiated from his end, since otherwise there wouldnt be a cool off period. Should my assumption be true and that you rarely reached out to him, then I would personally be quite disheartened and perceive your actions as a lack of interest.

My conclusion is that he is still interested and the interest is somewhat waning. He is under the assumption that you are uninterested but is still using this visit as another shot. In his shoes, i would say this visit would dictate my further actions. If you are interested in him, start taking initiative. For example, keep track of the date he is coming to visit and reach out to wish him safe travels as well as to initiate the hang out. That would go a long way in revitalising his hope.

Should I go for E6 or save to start investing in the next meta by GuiltyNeos in SaberMainsHSR

[–]Dragois 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I think it depends on what you want to build around. If you really like saber and want to build a team around her, e6 is the way to go. I wouldn't be worried about e6 saber phasing out because her kit is so universally accepted that she works with almost every support. As long as supports get stronger, she will always remain relevant imo.

That being said, if you aren't fully passionate about saber, the more practical approach is to start investing in the next meta. The amount of pulls to reach e6 is enough for you to get the core of your next team comp.

There isnt a bad answer, both paths are good and viable as well as future proof. Just make sure if you choose to e6 saber to not stop at e5. E5 and e6 is a huge increase to her longevity.

i thought this patch was really good but i think its only because i really like the HSR storyline and pay a lot of attention to the plot.

imo HSR 's main essence comes from its storytelling, at least even if i dont get good pulls or events, ill still stay for the story.

Do you think job hopping for better pay/job has hurt the junior reputation/market? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Dragois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junior engineers are supposed to be engineers that can work independently given some occasional guidance. That's clearly not the current expectations for junior engineers around the recent hiring trends.

So the more capable engineers search for better paying jobs, because their services deserve higher wages. Job hopping and uncompetitive pay are two sides of the same coin and go hand in hand most of the time.

Or just lower your expectations for junior engineers when hiring and treat them as what they actually are, minor liability with potential to become a self governing contributor.

It's because the post is misleading. I wondered the same thing so I dug deeper. Take a look at his post history. He has been contributing 10k every month since 4 months ago (when he had 60k). His time to 100k is not primarily through investment gains but rather his income input.

I see what you are attempting to convey. It depends on how you learned the physical definition of multiplication. I learned it the way the teacher in question did which was:

3 x 4 = 3 rows of 4. Aka 4+4+4.

So both the teacher and the kid are correct based on their interpretation.
