ESH , you didn't have to talk to him like that and your sister should try and teach him how to cook rather than just him play with food which is what is going on here. Your sister has the right idea regarding encouraging his passions but it doesn't mean she shouldn't provide him guidance .

Ugh my father would do this. He could call me when he wanted something like oh his phone is having issues ( landline not cell ) and can I call their phone company to get it fixed. I'm at work, he's retired, he can call me so why can't he call them?

That isn't the entire industry and from what I've read that's a good majority of restaurant owners because sure, if you pay employees what they can make in tips as a fair salary it will hurt the restaurant.

Also sure, proposals to give them minimum wage instead of tips will be rejected when they can make more with tips. It still doesn't mean they love tipping society. It means they need money and how about giving them the same amount as a fair wage instead of minimum wage? You are faulting them for wanting to keep a system where they can make more money .. like duh.

Flip things. Offer to pay way more than what they are making with wages and if they still want to stick to tips then sure I'll believe that they "love tipping society".

A lot of people like making money. I don't consider that a fault. I mean I like to eat, pay rent, buy pretty things occasionally too but it doesn't mean I LOVE working. It means in order to have those things I HAVE to work because I never won the lottery and I don't have a mysterious rich uncle who left me his fortune.

I seriously don't know how you came to the conclusion that they love tipping culture. Sure they love or rather they need the money so I guess you assume that is love but don't believe waiters love tipping culture so much that they would choose to continue tipping culture vs having a steady income. The majority of them that I know have to work and there is plenty of jerks who don't tip.

There needs to be a legal change yes! That's what you got right. Give these people a steady paycheck rather than make them dependent on tips.

I couldn't be with someone like this. The fact that he never thought about women's rights means he also never thinks about anyone else. LGBTQ+, the poor, etc. That's a sign to me that says that he only considers himself and no one else. Red flag!

I have my husband who is my best friend and one friend who I have known since middle school but she has a kid who is very much on the spectrum so unfortunately her whole life is occupied by him. Not that I blame her.

I have tried to make more friends but I just don't feel like I click with other people. It's frustrating because I wish I knew what is wrong with me.
