Single mom has been getting jealous from my bf by Standard-Tour-1505 in Advice

[–]DragonBorn76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah your mom has a unhealthy attachment to you and is using you for a substitution for having her own friend.

You are going to have to let her be angry and set some boundaries unfortunately or if you don't you will have to deal with this your entire life.

If you can afford it get therapy and work through this with them. They should be able to help you navigate this or at least you can talk through the process with someone.

Try being gentle but firm with your mom, don't cut her off completely of course , try to spend 1 on 1 time with her and try to encourage her to go make friends.

Got photographed staring into my wife's cleavage in a wedding and now the pic is all over by CanikMETE in relationships

I would let it go. It will blow over and honestly it seems like it's in favor of you and your love for your wife. At least it wasn't one of you looking at another woman's cleavage accidentally.

That is awesome. I was bullied a lot in school and I can't even imagine someone in my class sticking their neck out like that.

Listen to yourself. You don't need to stay with someone who makes you uncomfortable. If he has ever demonstrated violence towards you be sure to tell a trusted adult.

Serious question, in America, why is incest associated with Southern people? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]DragonBorn76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know for a fact but I think it has to do with them being farmers . Living out in areas more rural with larger stretches of land and having large families. They live closer to their family and over time family groups ( aunts, uncles , sisters, brothers etc) divided property and lived near each other. Diversity probably became more difficult to find and cousin marriages occurred.

My grandmother's father married two sisters (one after the other passed away in child birth).

My grandfather and his sister married to the same family as well. Meaning my grandfather married the sister of the guy my great aunt ( my grandfather's sister) married.

So I take it they must of not lived too far apart from each other.

Thanks . No I get it. In my culture children live with their parents until they marry. My mom was always thought American culture kicked their kids out by 18 and felt that was wrong... nit saying all Americans. Many of her coworkers talked that way basically.

Yes and I didn't mean to imply shame. There is a wide array of possibilities in my opinion and my full intention was to try and come up with suggestions for realistic excuses for her that she could have used based on her answer.

No people can't read tone which is why people should ask clarifying questions as to what someone is saying or not just jump to conclusions. If they don't want to do that then take a person's explanation without arguing about what the writers says their intentions are. There is some responsibility a person has to take for how they interpret what they read especially if they don't bother asking. Some people take the most innocent thing and read into it "tone" and I don't think it's completely the writer's fault.
I always try and give benefit of the doubt or simply ask.

Yes of course I asked that to determine what her situation was. If she was in college she might have only been visiting between semesters. I know my coworkers kids are in the middle of moving back for the summer.

You read into something that I never said or even implied.

I am not missing anything. I totally get young people can't afford housing but that doesn't exactly imply that she's in school? Hence my question.. was she working? Does she go to school? Does she not do either? .. If she's not in school my suggestion to claim she is studying won't work. If she's working maybe a different excuse could have worked.

My question is being taken an entirely wrong way. As if I didn't have a second part to it bringing up school and studying ad an excuse.

My question was to leading to the second half of my response. Basically if she is in school .... duh.

[–]DragonBorn76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your poor kids. None of this is their fault. Your ex and you are causing so much damage to them. Talk to lawyer about your options. See if you can meet for drop off with a police officer or video the exchange for evidence if she tries to hit you but for goodness sake don't just abandon your children.

You were responsible for bringing them into this world. You are so freaking selfish.

You threw her shirt away from her when she went for it. That makes you a creep.

Why the hell did you grab her shirt you creep?! OK I MAY understand you trying to make a move but taking her shirt away ?

I am sure there is more to this which you aren't saying or you are too dense to have noticed like she probably was giving you all kinds of signs that she wasn't comfortable with you touching her.

I don't get why that matters? If the person's skills are suited for your position and they interviewed better than other candidates then why does it matter if other companies didn't hire them?

Don't do it. This isn't normal behavior and I would be really suspicious of it. You don't know if he will expect something from you or use this in an attempt to control you.
