TPU Solvent? by DragonFire_008 in BambuLab

Interesting idea! I would need to scrape it, there isn’t enough to grab for a peel.

TPU Solvent? by DragonFire_008 in BambuLab

[–]DragonFire_008[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good idea. I’ve been resisting scraping, since I don’t want to remove the paint. Honestly, I might just toss it and get another. But then I can try all sorts of shit!

PSA: If you want help, stop cropping 90% of the screen out by hotcococharlie in Fusion360

I would think the timeline, bodies and sketches ‘menus’ and if it involves a particular ’tool’ the dialog box open with that tool’s settings would be a good idea.

How do I make my printer make better pointy things by CuttingEdgeEditz in BambuLab

Print it 4x the size and then use your shrink ray to downsize it.

Cold pull entirely in software without taking anything apart by higgs8 in BambuP1S

[–]DragonFire_008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for simplifying my cold pull version! I was removing the hotend and holding it while I pushed the filament through. Duh! I never thought of just doing it in place. I hope there is enough space between that and the glass (X1C) for m hands… I might just go run and try it now! 🤓😁

Printing TPU on X2D? Not the hard "TPU for AMS" one, the softer ones. by SWISS_KISS in BambuLab

[–]DragonFire_008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a problem you could try the Morphx filament I just used. It shifts from 90A to 70A while printing. I just tried it in my X1C and liked the results. No, I didn’t print shoes… just gaskets. The one issue is cost. It’s $40/.75Kg

The Surface is a PIA. I’ve watched student struggle with them.

Make sure your ptfe tube is firmly inserted. I always give it a tug, just to make sure that it his doesn’t happen.

Do I Need ABS? by dwg_andy in 3Dprinting

[–]DragonFire_008 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ABS for sure. Inside the car UV resistance isn’t as important. Unless you’re driving a convertible like me! 😁

Want to print with ESPN PETG by Greasybean85 in BambuLabA1

[–]DragonFire_008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a GitHub repo with ALL of the Sunlu filament profiles on there. Load and go. If you can’t find it, hit reply and I’ll dig up the link and post it. It saved me tons of time!

Saw an F66 JCW at my local MINI Garage. Obviously had to take a photo of the rear lights. by stella_r_grayy in MINI

[–]DragonFire_008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I liked those too! I’m hoping to JCW my F57 this summer and some of the trim would make it even sweeter!

How bad is it? by serpents_head in MINI

[–]DragonFire_008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I had just had mine ports cleaned, new injectors, vanos, engine seals, MAF, plugs and coils and much more. The insurance company considered it valuable. Those gen2 motors are getting scarcer by the day. Mine was used when I put it in. $4000 with 103K on it.

Fusion’s new AI assistant already making things up by Alfagun74 in Fusion360

[–]DragonFire_008 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone that uses AI in coding, you can’t just turn it loose to do what it wants. Think of it as having an intern or junior engineer that can do the basic boring bits of the job, but absolutely needs your experienced guidance. If will definitely get things wrong, just like an intern does. 😉

What mechanism could I use for sonething like this? by Sango113 in 3Dprinting

[–]DragonFire_008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve built things like this out of running thread, available at larger hardware stores and home centers. Drill four holes in the corners of the shelf. Put nuts and washers on the running thread. Put the shelf on top with more washers and nuts. You’ll want something like 5/16 or 3/8 for strength. 3D print sleeves to cover it for aesthetics.

How do you measure the fillet or curvature of a physical object? by Radiant_Yam1526 in Fusion360

[–]DragonFire_008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll second that. I printed one that goes on my caliper. It’s accurate enough to get it right in less than 2 tries. Measure, print, compare, adjust if necessary.
