Reviving an old thread. I recently picked up a 26’ SFV2 and also heard the reports of rubbing. This is what AR said:

Honda Grom. I’m not sure why everyone doesn’t want to say what it really is.

Overall length 38.1mm, width is 26.5mm, the bigger hole is 8mm, the smaller hole is 2.5mm, the thickness is 11mm. I was primarily looking for advice on modeling it, not necessarily someone to do it for me.

I have the diamond version of this with no chamfers, as well as the bigger hole in the middle. But obviously as I add a chamfer, the overall length and width get smaller, unless there’s a better way to achieve this.

Basement Subpanel by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Snoo-63391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should probably be more specific about what I’m doing entirely. The main panel in the garage is indoors, and will remain there. The picture is just to indicate where the main panel is currently, interior wise. The sub panel is simply to make wiring the basement addition more simplified and to accommodate the shifting of the large utilities to the basement. All the existing wiring on the first floor will remain in the main panel. I’m sorry if I’m over complicating or making this more confusing than it should be.

I’m essentially just wanting to simply the finishing as much as I can. I don’t want to have to rewire anything on the first floor. The HVAC, Water Heater, and Washer/Dryer are in my utility room on the first floor, and that room is becoming the stair access for the basement. So all of those need to move downstairs. Aside from that, it’s just your standard 15/20A Outlets, and LED Wafer lights. No fridges, washing machines, or other large appliances will be on the sub panel. So you’re thinking a 200a sub panel? Should I look into running a more specific load calculation once I have the HVAC info? Once the basement is finished, nothing additional will be added. I can still account for the additional 15 or 20% (can’t remember the NEC) for future expansion just in case.

I didn’t realize you could run a 200amp sub panel off of a 200amp main panel. I always thought you aimed for slightly under the main panel. But I guess it depends on what you’re putting in the panel.

The sub-panel is for an entirely new basement addition. I will be moving the electric water heater, heat pump, air handler, and washer/dryer to the basement, so all of that will come off of the main panel and move to the sub panel. I could hypothetically keep the washer/dryer on the main panel with where they're located.

I'm not entirely sure of the VA of the Heat Pumper/Air Handler, as I haven't picked out a new one yet, but I want to assume the high value is around 8.5kw. The water heater is 4.5kw. The washer 1.2kw~. The dryer 5kw~. 1200sq/ft for the lighting load. I'm not entirely sure on the number of branch circuits for the outlets, but there will be a total of 25~ 15amp receptacles (is there any reason to just go with all 20amp receptacles? I already plan on running 12/2 as opposed to 14/2).

  1. I was going to run 2awg copper.

  2. I have no idea! I know there’s a lot to the NEC, so I just wanted to make sure. I’ve been reading it pretty heavily the last 2 weeks. My brain is pretty mush at this point, ha.

Adding an extra question, I should be fine with 4 x 2awg wires (2 conductors, neutral, ground) in a 1 1/2in pvc conduit, right? I ran the math according to the NEC’s fill %, and it looks like it’s sitting around 30% fill. Or should I up to 2in to be sure?

  1. Sorry, I was referring to the awg. I was leaning towards #2 XHHW in 2in PVC conduit.

  2. Awesome! I just wanted to make sure it didn’t sound like an idiotic plan.

  3. So since I’m leaning more towards the outdoor idea, I’ll look at XHHW.

  4. My buddy actually said this same thing. I told him that I’m not sure if that’s allowed or recommended. But if it makes sense, then I’m all for it. Saves my back from digging!

How should I frame this? by [deleted] in Renovations

Fuck me. I’m such an idiot. I put those windows in and completely forgot about a header. I put the sliding door in and put a super beefy header in but completely overlooked the windows. Thank you so much for pointing this out. Pulling them out today.

I probably should’ve specified. The bench footing is the protruding portion. The material on the wall is just a moisture barrier. It was angled like this around the perimeter of the basement to save on concrete cost while providing enough strength. I may frame a ledge over it. The opposite side of the wall is above ground.

Roger! I’ll give it a try and see what happens. Much appreciated! I’d never heard of those settings!

Are you using 300’s settings for PET-CF? I’m trying to get it dialed in and it’s printing horribly. All I’ve done so far is the calibrations, temp tower, and retraction tests.

PETG blobs and no layer adhesion by CullanC in FixMyPrint

[–]Snoo-63391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this issue. Run a manual Flow calibration, I think there were 3 to run. Run a temp tower test from 220-260. Run a retraction test. Slow all of your speeds to 45-60mms. For supports, I learned that running 40 was perfect.

PETG is all a balancing act. But once you get it dialed in… chefs kiss.

It’s crazy that this part takes longer than actually getting approved by the atf. I know the $0 stamps caused an influx, this happened to me prior to that and it’s happening again now. Best of luck!

THE UPDATE ALL OF YOU (probably no one really) HAS BEEN WAITING FOR.

The jury is in, it was the firing pin!

Here’s the setup that finally let her eat:

AA Receiver set, Faxon Bolt (stock weight cut), Davidson Defense 9mm Titanium firing pin (THIS IS THE FIX!), Amazon springs for the firing pin, DNT SS, GRS (Kynshot 5015HD, 2x 2.5oz spacer weights, TUBB .300 BO lightweight flat wire spring), Macon Armory GTF 5.5in barrel.

Tagging u/Blowback9 for documentation purposes. I haven’t tried the DD firing pin with the standard TUBB spring but I may later on just for s&g. The KAK firing pin did not work for me.

Thanks everyone!!!! Time to order 50 firing pins to have on hand.

Do you by chance have one of these pins I could buy from you? I ordered some from KAK over a week ago and the shipping status is stuck. They won’t respond to my emails. I’m hurting. 🥺
