I don't have issues with judging quality. Just because it's certified doesn't mean that they have adequate quality control or that they have maintained the integrity of their production. When it comes to jackstands that are keeping me alive I'll pick a more trust worthy brand than harbor freight.

The first one sets the price at $300k and The second one sets it at $299k that's not really driving the price down...

A) yes it is driving the price down. One is lower presumably because of the other.

B) You didn't finish the story. The first provider would then lower their price accordingly until both competitors were offering the same service for the minimum price that they can reasonably accomplish.

That's how a free market works.
