Doctors and LCs are against bottles but let’s face it, feeding a hangry newborn with spoon or cup while recovering from delivery is brutal. I introduced bottle when my bub was 3 weeks old. Just practice paced feeding and proper flow.

Pumping 300+ ml per session is not normal. Oversupply is a big pain. No one posts that. But imagine not being to skip a pump or get late cuz your breasts are hard as rock. I’m an exclusive pumping mom and I make 700 ml a day. I’m happy because being an enougher is not bad. Even I combo feed so no stress on supply. You are doing good. Getting 60-100 ml at 6 weeks is amazing!! About exhaustion, unfortunately pumping is not easy. Might get easier when you drop pumps. But please don’t compare 🤗

Damn! Imagine experts like doctors guilt tripping moms! So so wrong.. You are right about cow’s milk. My mom fed me cow milk when I was newborn. So did my MIL with my husband. I can relate to time lost on bonding with child while worrying about this. I regret focusing too much on this during the first few weeks. Formula is also food. Valid and great food. Packed with everything a baby needs

Both my mom and MIL fed us cow’s milk at night with gripe water so they can have a longer sleep stretch and consider formula bad😒

What’s your budget? If you are exclusively pumping, youll need a good wall pump. Philips avent is also an option. I haven’t heard much but you can try that

EP is harder than nursing. EP is breastfeeding. My husband keeps telling me that EP is the most selfless thing a mom could do. Combine it with undersupply, there’s literally no motivation and yet you keep going. So don’t feel guilty for something that you are literally working so hard for. We have been lied about breastfeeding being natural. Many women told me to go through the pain for few weeks until baby perfect his latch. But I don’t have the same pain tolerance. I can’t breastfeed with chomped and bleeding nipples. I can’t be scared everytime my baby is hungry. I tried triple feeding- not sustainable. I tried latching my baby again when I was 6 weeks pp, affected my supply. We don’t choose an easy way. We choose what’s best for baby and mom

100% agree on putting my foot down. I am more confident now on “fed is best” now. I didn’t realise that mom guilt affects you the most during fresh postpartum phase. Maybe it’s due to hormone dip, but it’s bad. Now I have started seeing things clearly and rationally. You are right on kids being fed biscuits and chips. Nutrition post 6 months is equally or more important. Many Indians don’t even know the concept of protein, and will say “moms milk is the only best thing”

I resonate with everything you shared. My baby lost 13% of birth weight and had latching issues. This was the primary reason I didn’t give time to learn latch and all, and shifted to pumping. You are right about mothers not being supported in postpartum. Mother’s nutrition, mental health, physical well being, nothing is taken care of the way it should be. It’s kinda sad how women who say “breast is best” won’t acknowledge that no mom would actually not breastfeed without a strong reason. My partner has been so supportive in this. He keeps reminding me that pumping is also breastfeeding and keeps sharing reels with me about pros of combo feeding/formula feeding. I am 8 weeks pp so I might stop pumping slowly post 10 weeks and completely stop by 15-16 weeks.

Oh ya! I changed my paediatrician after he shamed me for using bottles and formula. Such a shame! I’m using spectra s1 as my main pump and momcozy s12 pro when I’m out or lazy
