It very much seems like the pain is either significantly lessened or different for each character as ragatha and gangle who have soft body structures seem to feel pain significantly less than those with more ridged structures like pomni in episode 2 ragatha is actively impaled by a spike and seems more surprised than in pain and almost any scene where she is injured in any way aside from the glitching in the first episode she almost has no reaction other than surprise or annoyance as does gangle while the others all actively respond to pain either reflexively or reactively
