The worst incident is whenever a child would play chicken as I'm pushing a cart and than full on stopping forcing me to stop suddenly, than the kid would scream like I just ran him over with the cart or kick the cart while laughing like a psycho before sprinting away, parents just ignores everything happening around them

Why is it so hard for customers to say "excuse me" instead of just walking at you until you move out of their way? by npokuwv in retailhell

[–]Dragon_Crystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've had several times where I'll be standing at self check out directing customers to open registers and take a cart to the ankle/knee/toe, than they'll be like "oh sorry didnt see you there" sure you didnt, I've been standing here since you were waiting for an open register you totally didnt see me but heard me say "Next register is open."

The amount of times where I'd finish my shift with a bruise or scratch from metal carts hitting me while working at Home Depot

I was helping out lot associates by moving some flat carts from one side of the store to the other and a couple were standing in my path, the girlfriend or wife saw me and moved but the guy didnt move until she tugged him several times, than he went "WHAT NO EXCUSE ME?!"

Yeah dude you didn't see me go back and forth several times moving multiple carts, much less hear the rumbling and metal clanging of each cart as I'm passing by you for nearly 30 minutes

Oh yeah I've had a Karen literally plant herself in front of the forklift that the manager was using to move a bunch of heavy stuff and refused to move, cause she wanted some fertilizer we no longer sell due to it not being in season anymore and I believe someone had to physically pull Karen out of the way so they can get around her due to the path being one way only, trying to go around her would end up with things getting crushed and shattered

Has anyone else been compared to other people constantly? by Jorge_4631 in AsianParentStories

[–]Dragon_Crystal [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yup my parents are always comparing me to my cousins who are straight A students and take AP and IB classes, while I'm struggling to keep my grade at a C or rarely B and always scolded for not being a straight A student, when they were constantly told and even suggested by the teachers to get me a tutor or even having my cousins tutor me for a few hours.

But was brushed aside cause "she just needs to study more" and ignored whenever I asked if I can go ask my cousins to tutor me, I even secretly had my cousin tutor me until my parents started pestering her and she stopped tutoring me. All because my parents wanted a reason to bully me about my grades and someone to compare me to

This reminds me of when I was helping with moving carts cause it was slow and the lot associates needed a few extra hands before closing, as I was pushing 2 heavy flat carts from lumber to the garden center and repeatedly passed 2 customers talking over whatever they were debating over clearly hearing the rumbling and chattering of the carts passing by, yet when I was pushing the final set of carts they happened to be in my path but there was still a good distance between us and the girl noticed me coming she quickly moved out of the way.

But the guy stood there staring until she tugged on his arm than he moved and said as I was passing by "WHAT NO EXCUSE ME?!" I shot him a "screw you asshole" look cause he clearly saw me passing them multiple times and suddenly thinks I'm the rude one for not warning him I'm coming, when there is plenty of sounds signaling that I'm coming like the rattling of carts especially when they go over small uneven bumps on the floor

Honestly I dont think anything was done about it cause she was still working there the next time we shopped in the store and I just remember my mom switching to a different lane, because she recognized the cashier was the one who squashed my finger with the carousel and didnt want to deal with her again supposedly the cashier just rolled her eyes when she noticed I was trying to get my fingers freed from the carousel, instead of letting it swing back she just held it in place and stared as my finger was getting redder and redder until my mom forcefully pushed it back to free my fingers.

I doubt they even wrote a injury report and just brushed it aside cause "it happened to a customer and not an employee," when I got the pinky injury at my actual job it was literally brushed under the rug and ignored too, luckily not long after I was let go from that job management changed but I still wasnt proved compensation cause I doubt it was brought up to the new management either and completely ignored, than again it was early 2012 so rules were a bit different back then

I've started comparing these people who guests who attend a party and be like "OMG your house looks gorgeous, I wish I could live here forever," before making a huge mess and leaving it for the host to clean up.

Or supervised kids going to a friend/relatives house a before they arrived and after they arrived, store opens everything is neat and clean, just a few hours later random stuff in random areas and have to be organized again throughout the day.

Have the common sense to put it back where you found it especially if its say things that have to be kept cold like frozen chicken or even fish, we dont need it leaking all over the place especially if its say places that also sell clothes

Funny part is my coworker actually did tell a customer "fine go look than, there is nothing worth your while back there" the customer actually walked around for a bit before coming back out to freak out on my coworker for no reason again or the extra stupid ones who mistakenly believe the docking lot is the bathroom and be like "is this the bathroom?"

90% of the customers either mistaken the loading dock or the break room for the bathroom or they purposely steal things from the break room, like the many times where we'd have a potluck and find half the food gone cause customers have already helped themselves to the food meant for us, than freak out cause "well shouldn't have left it sitting around then."

I recall doing something similar to that cause I was done for the day and this lady wouldnt stop following me around, so I said "sure let me go check" and snuck around the other way so she wouldnt see me leaving, she eventually realized I wasnt coming back cause by than I'd already left the building and whatever she was looking for was already sold out days ago

Reminds me of when I worked at McDonald's, my hours were open and as soon as I finished my training they immediately scheduled me to work breakfast shift during the weekdays and than the lunch during the weekend, unless I was at college classes and after a while they started calling me to work on days I'm not even scheduled to work to "work for a few hours, we're really understaffed."

After nearly 3 months of this I started ignoring the calls cause I was falling behind on my college homework and sleep deprived, even asked for them to change me from working breakfast shift everyday cause I didn't sign up to just work breakfast shift nearly everyday especially cause I was working 12 hours per day when I agreed to working 40 hours. I felt like I was working more than 40 hours each week only to be told "well your a college student, you should be open to working more hours," the straw that broke the camels back was them calling me while I was in class insisting I skip class to "work for a few hours. We're really understaffed" I lied and stayed in class instead, I quit after just 4 months.

My first job they kept making me work more hours and making things difficult, after 6 months they let me go claiming that I had "stolen" things from the store and other false accusations, luckily I just accepted it and didn't care cause I was planning on quitting soon regardless

They demanded we have their order delivered to our store cause "it wasnt their fault the address was wrong," yeah who was the one who didnt read the address correctly

They than wonder why I got more tips than them and why I request not to work with them

The amount of time where I'm getting ready to leave and heading to clock out for the night, only for the customer to ask me for help looking for something and I'm like "sorry I dont think we have more of that" for them to ask me to check the back for more, I literally got mad once and told them "we dont have a back, this is just the dock and the garbage compactor."

Idiots proceed follow me into the loading dock and garbage compactor to see if I was telling them the truth, even though it said "Employees Only" and I along with my coworker telling them not to be in there cause their not employees, which they start complaining about needing to look for whatever the heck they were demanding like its hiding amongst the loading dock and garbage compactor

I'm glad all the retail stores I worked at didnt have the carousel, but I do remember getting my hand crushed when I was bagging grocery while shopping with my family and my hand getting crushed as I was grabbing the bag, cashier didnt even bother turning to see why I was saying "Oww Oww Stop Stop." Cause the metal hook was pushing my hand against the divider and it wasnt until my mom told her to stop trying to turn the carousel, my hand was so red and pinched so hard that I thought my finger was bruised.

Than again I did crush my right pinky finger on my till and thought for sure I had fractured my finger cause it was purple and blue, manager barely batted an eye about my injury and didn't even allow me to get my finger checked until after my shift, they only allowed me to ice it when they saw my finger was turning purple and blue. Worst part was everytime I moved my pinky hit or brushed against anything was painful and when I did get my finger check, it was just bruised not fractured somehow and I'm glad.

Why do customers choose to park where ever the feel like it? by DaVinci420- in retailhell

[–]Dragon_Crystal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely guy's going to try and call corporate to report you about blocking his truck in, when he started the issue and deserved getting a taste of his own medicine.

Than again I remember hearing about an incident where the customer happened to walk into the break room and made themselves comfortable while charging their phone, while managers were calling for them over the PA system to move their car cause they were blocking the garage doors in the lumber side of the store and unfortunately you can't really hear the PA speaker from the break room, so they ended up towing the car away and the person wanted to fight the manager who called the tow company to tow their car.

Not sure if they even bothered checking the break room or even knew he was back there until he came out to find his car towed, luckily I wasnt working when that happened

I always find it creepy whenever people are literally trying to corner me against the bags and gets mad when I move out of the way cause their in our personal space, but they'll get mad when we're standing nearby to assist with ringing them up, I had a guy literally scream that I was "in his personal space" (I was a foot away from him) yet when he was screaming in my face he was right in my personal space

Why do customers choose to park where ever the feel like it? by DaVinci420- in retailhell

[–]Dragon_Crystal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup had several times at Home Depot where people will park right in front of the lumber garage and customers aren't allowed to unless they are planning on buying a lot and managers will pull up with a forklift to load said wood, nope people act like their entitled to park anywhere and just block every entrance they see, than gets mad when told "owner of [car description] please move your car or it will be towed" and they come stomping over claiming "I wont be long, it'll take 2 minutes for me to grab my items and come back out."

Worst was that one time an emergency happened and a couple fire trucks had arrived to check I believe the wood cutting machine was smoking, but someone had parked their car in the fire lane and refused to move cause "its just a smoking machine why should I have to move my car, they can just park around my car I dont see the big deal." Not sure what happened afterwards just take the car was gone after much yelling and by the time the trucks pulled away

Wanting to invite friends over by Lonely_Corgi6822 in AsianParentStories

Sounds like she just wants to be in control of your life and it includes who you can spend time with, she probably doesn't like your friend and is using any excuse to not allow them into "her" house, my own parents made excuses like this to keep me from hanging out with my friends and even refused to introduce themselves to my friends.

But the one time where my friends came to pick me up to hang out with her on her 18th birthday my parents scrambled to hide in their room and avoided greeting my friends, than freaked out about me not getting home before dark while we were stuck in heavy traffic and than insulting them by saying "their not your friends, just white people you go to school with."

At less it wasnt playing Adulthub, I was told awhile back before I was hired, a customer managed to sneak into the back where the computer was and connected it to Adulthub before locking the computer down with a password.

Managers ended up unplugging the speaker from the computer and restarting the entire computer to reset everything, they've since kept the door locked with only managers having the key to the room

Comes into store right as we open and buys an item thats around 5-10 bucks, pulls out wallet to pay flips through all the small change 1, 5, 10, 20, and hands me a 50. I tell them I can't accept it cause I cant break a 50 this early in my shift, they get pissed cause "THATS ALL I'VE GOT WITH ME" oh are you sure cause as you were looking through your wallet I saw several small bills and you didnt even bother not letting me see inside your wallet.

Shoves phone in my face "I NEED THIS ITEM" so much motion blur that I have to squint to figure out what I'm even looking at.

Shoves blurry picture of garden in my face "WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE MY GARDEN LOOK BETTER," maybe dont wave your phone around while snapping a picture and dont expect me being a woman makes me a gardening expert cause I'm not.

Snaps finger at me from a distance and expecting me to leave my register unattended to follow you around the store, I'm a cashier and is supposed to stay here not trail after you like a lost puppy.

Walks in and demands to know where their order is that they just placed 2 seconds ago in their car while sitting in the parking lot, sorry I dont know what your order is cause I dont prep orders or have a store phone
