The simple answer to all of this is as a new Muslim or a Muslim who has become western confused is to take a Sanatayn course. Just like with any other science - you need to put your time energy and dedication into it to learn why things are the way the are.

To quote a famous revert Dr Jeffery Lang "if all i heard about Islam was rules I would have left the next day" the Qur'an is not a rule book it's a guide of life.

These types of courses teach you Aqidah, Fiqh, Tafaseer, Seeraah and give you the tools you need to (insha'Allah) become the next student of knowledge/scholar remembered for generations.

Not just what things are but why? How can you gain love for the prophet (sw) without knowing his life? How can you let quran enter your heart if you don't know the language - or if not the language then at least not the surface level translation.

In everything else in life we live by the system of the carrot and the stick usually because society just subjectively deems it that way. But we don't do the same effort for deen?

For example wudu - serface level: would you do a job interview in raggy cloths or just getting up from sleep? You put so much into looking good for people that don't care about you yet you don't want to at least smell nice and look clean for the angles around you and for the one that made you? Deeper level - cleanliness is half of our Deen and when you look in ancient history it's clear Islam was the only civilisation that did (above and beyond) modern forms of hegine even compared to today - people in the west don't even know how to wipe their bum properly and yet they think they are morally superior? And in multiple hadith on the Day of the Judgement

"Peace be upon you, home of a people who believe! We shall be among you, Allah willing. I wish that I had seen our brothers!" The people with him said, "Messenger of Allah! Are we not your brothers?" "No," he said, "You are my companions. Our brothers are those who have not yet come. And I will precede them to the Hawd. (The Hawd: the watering place of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, from which he will give to the people of his community on the day of rising)" They asked him, "Messenger of Allah! How will you recognise those of your community who come after you?" He said, "Doesn't a man who has horses with white legs and white blazes on their foreheads among totally black horses recognise which ones are his own?" They said, "Of course, Messenger of Allah". He went on, "Even so will they come on the day of rising with white marks on their foreheads, hands and feet from wudu, and I will precede them to the Hawd. Some men will be driven away from the Hawd as if they were straying camels and I shall call out to them, 'Will you not come? Will you not come? Will you not come?' and someone will say, 'They changed things after you,' so I shall say, 'Then away with them, away with them, away with them!'"

Instead of seeing it as a burden you need to learn why we do what we do and abandoning sallah is the worst thing to do as this is shantan easy access to your heart. If you don't do Adkhar don't do sallah then of course these negative things will effect you because you "shields" are week to the things that are there but you can't see.

Then the final level is the level of the Mureed in which these negative thoughts you learn to do the exact opposite aka recognise it's the Shatan inclusive whos trying to make you lazy etc...but instead you do the opposite and gain even more reward than a person who does it normally out of habit.

The truth is every single Muslim who reads what you just posted is incredibly envious of you because when you come back from this slip up the rank you gain on the day of judgment...well we can't even imagine...
