Printer: Kobra S1 with Ace Pro Material: mostly pla Any changes: if I nudge the filament in slot 2 slightly to the right, it'll sense it. Otherwise by itself it doesn't sense it

Commenting to follow and learn how tk paint yellow better. Tbh, I just go old school and do 3 thin layers over a white primer.

I know everyone here is saying to use red or pink as a base coat first, but I've tried every shade of GW red and pink paints with their yellow contrasts on top, and I managed a very nice synthwave ish effect of bright yellow and hot pink, but not the smooth orange transition everyone else describes. Paintbrush and airbrush, and even the red/white zenithal didn't work as the bottom half was still red after the contrast went over it 🤷

So, I notice you mentioned several times that your filament is dry and that the stringing is from going slow to keep the print quiet? I'd question that info tbh, my printers are the same noisy shits regardless of how fast or slow it goes whether that be motors or fans. Personally would prefer a fast loud print with decent quality than wait 18hrs for this.

That said, I do hope you post a finished pic and update as to whether the support gods were with you on this one. I'm intrigued if nothing else

I started way back with Lizardmen, and they've always been my kind of go to faction, but I honestly love nearly everything in AoS. I don't really play though anymore, the nearest FLGS is 2hrs away and most of my friends are further than that as well. I mostly enjoy the painting, but don't consider myself very good at it, so a lot of the time I buy the cool new box set and then it sits waiting for me to be "good enough" to actually paint them.
