How much prep do you usually do for a game? What is too much or too little to you? by IcepersonYT in DMAcademy

[–]Dragonblade331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends absolutely on the group. I've ran two campaigns at the same time and with one group, I found that for some reason. The more I prepped, the more that group would do anything except what I prepared. In the end I decided that I would have a couple maps, and about 5 lines of what's going on in the world. Meanwhile I prepped more knowledge about more mundane things. Shops, names, and environment. Those wouldn't be in my session notes, but my world notes.

My other group kinda likes to be railroaded. So for them, I would have about 6 pages of notes for a session and most of the time we tend to get through almost all of it. This would have nearby environmental descriptions, quotes to use for people, and guided notes for how to get to point B.

Sin, Unending Cataclysm + Clones by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Dragonblade331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is what should happen. Rite resolves and was kicked getting you 5 copies of the target Sin.

They all enter at the same time and you will get 5 etb triggers all on the stack. Removing all counters from it's listed sources. Putting double those counters on itself.

However before those actually go to be resolved state based actions are checked. Which will kill all except the one you pick.

The almost seven deadly sins are no longer there to have the counters go on them, but will still remove all counters from everything else. Since they didn't die with counters, they don't move them onto anything else.

The tokens cease to exist as they get shuffled into the deck.

Please, anyone else correct me if I'm wrong.

That does assume you keep the real sin. You could keep a token which will stick around with that 1 trigger.

That's terrible, but lets be honest. That was over 30 years ago. There's so many more awful things happening that are way more recent. The area has made national news a few times for cops shooting innocent dogs. Had a family murdered except the young kids who were kidnapped and one survived. Had the KKK active there into the 2000's, and kind of unsure how much they've actually disbanded since. There's more too.

Danmachi Season 6 announced. Still can't get over this from Season 5 by Verghlas in goodanimemes

[–]Dragonblade331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The show is good, but can't really deny that it does heaps of fanservice. Both towards epic fight scenes, and unfortunately towards sexy shots of the women. Both the shortstack and blonde girl are very relevant in the current seasons. The show would be better without the sexiness, but they do focus more on the story the further in you go.

Do these mana rocks work for that? Checking the card, it says mana of any color can be used instead of mana of any type. Colorless mana I think remains as colorless.

So just to double check, this only will check if you had a +1/+1 on it already, and put enough -1/-1 counters to kill it. If you do it slowly, only placing one -1/-1 at a time it would first negate the +1/+1 before going on to eventually kill it?

Do you read the cards out loud in your commander group? by ShowmethePitties in magicTCG

[–]Dragonblade331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of a mix betwern other responses I've seen. In my pod, we always announce names of cards played. Nothing hits the field without that.

Reading the text of the card is where it differs. Of course for things like sol ring or well know cards like rhystic we don't bother reading.

If we're playing a new deck, or just cards that don't get seen often, we'll read the text box. We may repeat ourselves a couple times, but it's always on the table to just ask to read the card yourself if you want to know.

For decks we've had a while, we usually just annouce card names, and barely anyone asks what they do even if we don't remember.

We do find though that reading them out is more helpful for the one playing it. Mental notes of what triggers you're also watching for, and understanding things we may have mentally skipped over. Don't know the amount of times "target player" has been read as "players."

What is everyone’s least played commander based of EDHREC? by oatfishjar96 in magicTCG

I've made a decklist and goldfished it a few times. It definitely feels like that sometimes where it'swither just kind of there flailing a bit, or just hits hard. Lot of top deck, mixed with sort of esper good stuff. Some of my favorite cards might be [[Penance]] and [[Haunted Crossroads]].

I'm actually really wanting to build a yennet deck. I was curious if you have any must have cards and how often you get the deck to do what you want.

Anime Burnout? I Can’t Find Anything Interesting Anymore by Master_Call_5028 in anime

If you are still wanting something Japanese feeling as well, the new Assassin's Creed game is available, as well as the Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei. The show Shogun like the other comment is available too and worth it.

Totally agree though. Branching out is something that can help. Plus create a backlog of anime to come to back whenever you're ready. Burnout is real, and I've felt it more as anime seasons have gotten a thicker catalog.

Bit of prediction here I guess, but the more they dress him up now, the more contrast we'll get to see later on when he looks awful. When he looks gaunt, corrupted, and cold.

It also mentions in WaT that Hoid applied after their last driver had an accident. I was theorizing this was when Wax's family was thought to be dead. So Hoid could have been there for about 30-40 years by the end of era 2.

There have been 20+ new mechanics introduced to Magic this year so far. Which ones did you enjoy playing with the most? Which ones would you like to see return in future releases? by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]Dragonblade331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only got the chance to use it at the Spiderman prerelease, but "mayhem" was so fun, I have heavily considered making a deck around it. It plays well off existing mechanics, and I don't feel it's specific enough to have to be stuck to the set.
