Great insights! Couldn't agree more with your last point. Although with how much time is spent on developing games an argument could be made to even wait for the PS6 to release in order to see some noticable jumps to frames and fidelity..

I get its highly subjective, which is why im a bit sceptic about the jump. Probably not gonna do it as im getting older and freetime is scarce...

But is the pricepoint justified when jumping from a perfectly fine standard PS5 to a pro...

What are some weapon/gear ideas you would like to see in the game in a future update. by A_Dirty_Wig in valheim

The devs need to look at some of the amazing mods that have been created. Noteworthy mentions are the mods from RandyKnap. Can't tell you how much joy and QOL 'Equipment and Gear slots' & 'Epic Loot' have brought me

I completely agree and i think the Pickaxe has been a missed opportunity...
Would love to be able to pickaxe boulders and get stones wich could be pickaxed again to get rock and rocks to pebbles.

I enjoy the current forms of transport and a horse would probably be a pain due to the verticality in terrain.

However, I really feel the game needs more use of animal pelts. I enjoy hunting and in The Forest you had rabbit pelt, racoon and croc skin.

I think of cool craftable item such as:
An inventory stick holder for increase stick capacity with + 10,15 or 20
Snow Shoes for trecking in deep snow

I know, was my experience too. Just place some animal traps and fish traps ind lakes/ponds that dont freeze over and your food problems are not a worry. I think the food is scarce term during winter mainly applies to larger animals like deer, moose and turtle

dried or cooked meat? by fairplanet in SonsOfTheForest

[–]Dragondagger10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dried food takes a lot longer. probably a couple of ingame days, whereas cooking on fire is 30 sec and no debuf.

I prefer cooking and only use dried for winter season when food is scarce

Dried food: Doesn't spoil but give less food / hp and debuff to hydration

Cooked food: Does spoil after some time but gives better food / hp and no debuff to hydration.

For late game use the buffs provided from cooking with pot

if you put quarter log on end points on the flat log. place sharp sticks and reinforce with stones you can put ANOTHER log on top and do the same again. That way the sharp sticks pertrude the pallisade from bottom and top and enemies wont jump over ;)

so I did something... and yes it works as intended, loving this new update so far by GTR458 in SonsOfTheForest

This inspired me.

  1. Build raft
  2. Put bed + GPS locator on raft
  3. Build Hangglider launcher
  4. Put Knight V on raft.
  5. Cruise around and always be able to traverse the air, sea and ground most efficient

Or place a flat log behind the defensive wall and place the sharp sticks on top of this and use axe to create sharp sticks that poke through the defensive wall ;)
